ALL Glory Belongs to Our God

Miracle on the Hudson remains the heroic experience in aviation industry in the last decade. Everything about the event seemed like well calculated movie scenes and I still applaud Captain Sully for such bravery.

Merriam Webster defines Miracle as an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.

Q: How could a pilot land Airbus A320 with 155 people safely on a river?

A: It was an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs

Miracles happens every day and I believe what happened on the Hudson was great deal of a miracle. However, when asked if it were a miracle in an interview with ABC News? Cap Sully responded that it wasn’t a miracle but the hard work of many players in the industry over many decades.

He protects the lives of his faithful people…a man does not triumph by his own strength.

(1 samuel 2:9, GNT)

Sometimes we take God out of the scene and attribute extraordinary accomplishment(s) to our hard work, or experiences, or qualifications/certificates, or connections, or personality(ies). Yet we get offended, and/or are quick to react, when we are not credited for our actions/deeds.

Friend, all glory, praise, and honor belongs to our God. You worked hard (no doubt about that) but the strength to work was freely given by God. The Wisdom, Knowledge, Favor was given from above. John the baptist testified that “No one can receive anything unless God gives it from Heaven.
(John 3:27, NLT)

What Happens when you attribute all Glory to God?

  • Your life becomes an instrument of worship
  • You continually thank and praise God for everything you have/do.
  • You shift the focus from you to God.
  • In effect, you automatically recognize that you are vessel which He uses for His purpose(s).
  • He uses you more for greater accomplishments
  • Pride has no root in your life

What happens when you Keep the Glory?

David and Israel was punished by God when David had wrong motive for taking census. 1 Chronicles 21
David wanted to know the size of his army which displeased God because He (God) gave them victories, not their army size or their strength. 70000 people died as a result.
This explains why (sometimes) we see some people with decorations of qualifications yet haven’t achieved anything meaningful. They are struggling because to them, it’s about what they have and not Who they have.

In this Season, God is about to use you mightily to accomplish the Supernatural. When you see the manifestation in your life, remember that ALL GLORY BELONGS TO OUR GOD.

The Beauty of Your Story (1min read)

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am” (John 14:1-3, NLT)

  • Introduction

When students go through modules in class, there is an exam right? Where the lecturer sets standard exam questions with anticipation that every student will pass. I remember during my post graduate days, one lecturer told the class that no one would fail. Whew! that took massive headache away. He added that “your decision to choose this course gave you grade C, now the little effort you put will push you to either grade A or B. You have all course materials and it’s up to you to decide But don’t worry because I will set the questions and I will mark them“. In the end, many students got A, and some got C.

  • Digging deeper

This story could be projected onto a broader screen or I should say liken to what the whole JESUS story is about. He said in John 3 that “…everyone who believes in him will not perish…” In effect, your decision to believe in Him and accept Him as your Lord and Savior gave you grade C. This is certain because He sets how (or standard) you should live and He will judge those standards. He is the Examiner, the Marker, or the Judge. Now, what you do with Jesus will promote you to either Grade A or B.

Paul put this in a different context. In 1 Corinthians 3: 11 (TLB) he said “And no one can ever lay any other real foundation than that one we already have—Jesus Christ.” He added that “But there are various kinds of materials that can be used to build on that foundation. Some use gold and silver and jewels; and some build with sticks and hay or even straw!” (v12). Then he concluded that on the judgement day, everything will be tested with fire; those with gold together with those with straw. Note that because the real foundation was JESUS, everyone will be saved but individual rewards will differ.

  • Points to Consider

So as Jesus goes to prepare place for you, how would your house be? The quality of your house will depend on what you did with the resources he deposited on the inside of you. I would encourage you to take steps each day to be better for Jesus’ business. It could be 5, 10, or 15 minutes out of 1440 minutes in a day. 15 minutes is approximately 1% of the gifted 1440 minutes.

Life isn’t about living in mansions, driving latest car, marrying beautiful spouse, raising godly children, etc. These are add-on. They are important but not as important as where your SOUL would be when it leaves your body. Think about this: Maybe its time you reconsider your priorities to accept the reality that Jesus is coming to take you HOME.

  • Happy Ending

Today be happy that Jesus is the Examiner (the Judge) and He has passed you already because you believe in Him. The beauty of your story is that He has equipped you to be better each day. He has also defeated the enemy and his demons for you and raised you higher above their reach. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places, which enforces the need to ask yourself these questions daily:

  • What will I do with Jesus?
  • What will I tell my world about Jesus?
  • What reward do I expect in the End?
  • Would Jesus be happy with my decisions today?

Hope to see you in Heaven. God bless us and may He continue to reward our efforts in Jesus.

The Time is NEAR

Do you know how to sing Andrae Crouch’s “Soon and very soon“? It’s an old song yet it carries a message of hope and assurance that soon and very soon we are going to see the King. We are going to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you ready if He comes today, even Now?

Travel Plans - 2 Corinthians 6:2

This should also remind us that Jesus came so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost, according to Luke 19:10. I thank God that you are saved and have hope of living with Jesus in eternity. How about those who are outside the body of Christ?

Because the time is near, our assignment to reach out to those who need to hear the Good News of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is urgent and important. Believe me or Yes, we don’t have the luxury of time because people are dying every day. People are making wrong choices  about their future and don’t factor life after death in their decisions. It’s therefore our responsibility to prompt them as soon as we can and/or compel them to come to Christ.

Rescue 'copter - Psalm 89:14Technology has made reaching out to people easier for us today than preceding generations. With your smartphone in your hand, you can share messages with thousands of people around the globe. Jesus, in Luke 15, said what happens in Heaven over a sinner who repents. In v7, He said “I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” and in v10 He added “In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].” (AMP)

As you seek to bring JOY to your home, office, your relationships, neighbourhood, etc. would you consider doing an act that will instigate JOY in Heaven, and in the presence of angels of God in your everyday life?

Heaven is counting on you.

You might not be able to travel around the globe to share the Good News but your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, WhatsApp, etc accounts can be used to send messages to places you haven’t heard or seen before. And you could support missionaries who have sacrificed everything to travel to places you can’t go. As you do your part, the Spirit of God will handle the rest.

Time Travelers - James 5:8

Think about this:

What can you do today, with what you have, to make your Father in Heaven and the Angels happy?
