The Beauty of Today

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be happy today!

(Psalm 118:24, ERV)

The beauty of today is that it always comes to us and we always live in it. It is the only day we would ever have. It is tomorrow you said yesterday that you were going to do many things. Today is here. You made a to-do list for it, and you prayed that God helps you make it better than yesterday. Now, it stares at you and wonders what you are going to do with it. What is your excuse today? Today is yesterday’s tomorrow.

Today is the day that you can do stuff. You can do more today than any other day. Thinks about this; Yesterday is gone and nothing can be done except worrying about things you couldn’t do or could have done but didn’t try at all. Better still, you can dwell on yesterday’s successes and get stuck in them. Tomorrow is always in the future and nothing can be done in it except for the planning and hoping for the best, and/or worrying about things you wouldn’t have and can’t do. Today, you have two options; either you do something and build on it tomorrow or do nothing and wait for tomorrow.

God set a perfect example for us in the scripture where from Genesis to Revelation, we see the Creator always projecting what would happen in the future but always working in the Present. In Genesis 1, God worked in each day (Today) without going back to yesterday to make corrections or jumping into tomorrow to lay foundations for its activities. He focused on each day and made it beautiful.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

(Matthew 6:34, MSG)

You have this perfect gift called Today. It’s beautiful so give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. Today is the only day you have, and the only day you can be active and be productive. You can work on your yesterday’s plans bearing in mind that every little step counts. Again, you have to drop the charges you have laid on yourself for your failure to act yesterday and trust that your tomorrow would be better than today because on this day, you are laying the required foundation for it(tomorrow). Are you ready to give your best today? God bless you!

Tomorrow comes quick

20121122-170025.jpgAlmost 20 days already; yeah! the year is still young and gradually the Lord is ordering our steps into achieving His purpose(s) for our lives. But it is easy to be in a new day and yet walk in the shadows of yesterdays…you know the kind of feeling when you wake up in the morning and mourn about what went wrong yesterday. Whew! it’s kind of tricky when you become so excited about yesterday‘s success(es) that you fail to recognize amazing things you can do today for better tomorrow.

Think about this; Today is yesterday’s tomorrow. What matters is TODAY. You can’t (appear to) do things in Tomorrow, or (go back to) undo things in Yesterday. In effect, looking back at yesterday, what can you do today as you prepare for tomorrow. These three days are very critical as you journey through life.

Reminder: Tomorrow comes quick.

Therefore, as each blessed day is unfolding in 2018, be mindful of the simple little tricks the enemy will use to keep you from expanding and/or most importantly keep you bound in your comfort zone when he tells you to wait till tomorrow/next week/next year.

Tomorrow (or next week or next year) is running hurriedly towards us so if you can Pray today, pray. If you can Fast today, Fast. If you can win soul today, just do it.  If you have to read today, read. Whatever you have to do today (or in 2018) must be carefully thought through and done. Remember, Today is Yesterday’s Tomorrow or better still This Year is Last year’s Next year.

Redeeming the time…Eph 5:18

Thought for the Day: April 24, 2015

20130215-173932.jpgNothing can be done about what happened yesterday. However, you can make plans today in order to have a better tomorrow. If someone did you wrong, let it go. If you made a mistake, don’t dwell on it. What matters most in life is what you do with “today” because you have no control over yesterday and tomorrow.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success!” (Psalm 118:24-25, ESV)
