No Man Can Curse You

God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change.
If he says he will do something then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised.

(Numbers 23:19, ERV)

The story about Balak and Balaam is an interesting story that you can relate to your daily affairs. In summary: Balak was intimated by Israel’s successes and out of fear contracted Balaam to curse Israel. He promised to pay huge sum but Balaam was determined to say what God says. The offer was good and it could have changed Balaam’s life yet he couldn’t curse Israel, not because he didn’t want to do it but God continually cautioned him that Israel was His people and they were already blessed. He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

This is interesting because these people were unborn generations in Abraham. Out of one man, God had produced an entire nation…millions of people…spanning over 400 years. Therefore He wasn’t going to allow one man, Balaam, to destroy His precious possession. Thus He intervened for Israel behind their back. Israel had no idea what was happening behind the scenes but The God who Sees all and Knows all turned moments that could have hurt them into opportunity for blessings.

Why is this story important?

Jesus Christ came to die for you. He stamped you with His precious blood to make you God’s precious possession. He was ashamed for you. He was accursed for you. He became poor for you. He was beaten for you. He went through all the unthinkable for you. His goal was that anyone who believes in Him will live a life that is above His on earth. The scripture also says that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places…the highest place of honor. Satan and his demons know this truth. They know that like the children of Israel, you are blessed and can’t be cursed. You are healed and can’t be tormented with sicknesses and diseases. You are rich and not poor. And you are entitled to live the higher life that Jesus Christ brought to earth.

Know this Truth: Just as God had the children of Israel on His mind when He was blessing Abraham, He had you in mind when He sent Jesus Christ to die on the Cross. Because of Jesus Christ, God will always commit to His Word concerning your life.

Sometimes some people may hate you for nothing…O! because of your successes. They may see your progress in life as a threat to their whole being. They may try physically or even consult a medium in order to chase you out. It’s possible that you may be aware of their schemes but one thing is certain. No creation can undo what the Creator has done without His permission. And I can assure you that your enemies will perish with their thoughts if they continue to pursue that impossible mission.

In this Holy Week, let the foundation of your faith be strengthened because Jesus Christ was victorious and His is the Victorious One. He is the #1 Champion Who champions you affairs. The enemy can’t harm as long as you remain under the secret place of the Most High. Finally everything you decide to do shall prosper in Jesus’ Name. Amen

You’Re Not Alone

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

(Joshua 1:9, AMP)

The Lord your God is with you wherever you go today, this week and beyond. God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous because he was going to face different challenges as a leader. He was going to make history that would be talked about thousands of years later. The magnitude of his task was so huge that he couldn’t have gone alone so God assured him of His presence.

  • Why would God command and insist that Joshua should be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6,7,9)? Three things to consider:
    1. He was going to deal with his own people by giving them their inheritance as promised by God. Remember that Moses had been the leader since exodus from Egypt and this new role would require firmness and courage.
    2. He was also supposed to set standard for Israel to follow as a leader. This would require him to adhere to every command God had given to Moses. There were deviants among them therefore it was necessary for God to echo the need to be firm and courageous in practicing what the law says. There were no pick and choose to fit narratives in order to condone sin.
    3. Finally, He was going to enter new territories with hardcore enemies equipped with advanced technologies. Having heard the news about Jericho and its formidable walls, his own experiences with the giants on the promised land, and the knowledge Jordan river before them, God had to reassure Joshua of His presence in the situation and the need for him to be composed and charged for the places and people he had to conquer.

These three considerations are applicable in your daily life:

  1. You’re on earth for divine assignment and what you do in any day would have cumulative effect on what you leave behind. Like Joshua, God chose you to lead and claim the inheritance for your family and other dependents. These dependents could be your employees, friends, church members, colleagues, etc. They depend on your for their spiritual and/or physical wellbeing therefore don’t take the position you occupy for granted. God has your there for His purpose. He is with you and you’ve got to be strong and courageous to complete your given assignment.
  2. God expects you to keep every word in His Word. It takes courage to say and do the word of God. Cowardice enables people to obey some part of the scriptures that fit their narrative for the moment. That’s why it is difficult for some Christians to say (publicly) that homosexuality is a sin according to God’s command. God wants you to be strong and courageous when it comes to your stance on the scriptures because your deviation (or compromise) will send wrong signal to those who look up to you for direction.
  3. Finally, Today is a new territory. You have no idea how the day would be and what your enemies have planned. You don’t know the enemies you would meet in traffic, at grocery store, at work, etc. The news reports may send waves of fear and panics, and other things you would least expect. In spite of these, God has assured you of His presence in the day therefore be strong and courageous. Your God on your side means that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and those who stand against you shall be reduced to nothing. Jordan rivers before you will give way for you, and every wall of Jericho shall fall.

When you see the Sun rise in the morning, remember that God is with you. He will lead you through the day but know that what you do in the day matter(s). Don’t be terrified or intimated by what you see and/or feel because your God is with you. If you can be strong, then He will be your strength. And if you can be courageous, then He will work through you. Be blessed, strong, and courageous. You’re not alone.

Journey To The Top

You have made a wide path for my feet
    to keep them from slipping.

(Psalm 18:36, NLT)

When you have to walk on a tightrope, you need balance and focus. You would also have to practice and practice in order to perfect. If you are acrophobia, then thin line (tightrope) or narrow path wouldn’t be your thing, especially at a higher level.

Here is the thing: God has destined for you to go higher in life but the path uphill is thin like the tightrope. You need balance and focus. You must let go many things like worry and anxiety, anger, bitterness, lust, greed, etc to maintain balance. And to Focus, you must get rid of distractions. An example of distraction is comparing yourself to someone. I think it would be right to say that Balance enhances Focus.

God knows that apart from these two (balance and focus), the enemy will throw anything at you in order to get you off the line. Picture yourself on a tightrope at about 500 feet above and someone is throwing stones at you. Your enemy wants you to stumble and fall. Therefore He (God) has enlarged the path beneath you so that you don’t have to be on a tightrope. This will help you to maintain balance and move to achieve His purposes for your life.

When you journey on a path like the one above, maintaining balance is easy. This is what God has done for you. In Psalm 18:36, David said that God has made a wide path for his feet to keep them from slipping. With this (wide) path, David was assured of balance and he could run faster if need be. He had enemies who wanted him to fall at different stages of his life. His in-laws sought after his death and his son came fiercely to take away the throne. In spite of these, David had balance and was focused because God had him covered.

This is true for you as well. Your journey uphill maybe tough especially if your parents didn’t provide solid foundation and you have to dig your (own) way through. You will have enemies targeting your progress but know that your God has enlarged the path beneath you and He is making your steps secure. Don’t be afraid of what you see but let your actions be inspired by your Faith and keep moving forward. If you don’t give up, You will Succeed. God bless You!
