You’ll Win

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

(Genesis 50:20, NLT)

You’ll Win. How do I know that? Simple: You’re a child of God and that’s your destiny. You’re destined to win. This piece would touch on Two Things you can do in order to secure this Win.

  1. Trust in the Author of Life:
    • You were brought on earth for specific assignment. God carefully planned your days before permitting you into the womb. That’s why out of some 200 millions sperms that were released from your Father, only One (you) got to the egg quicker. When you see the person “YOU” in the mirror, tell him/her that “You’re a Wonder, a Fighter, a Survival, and a Winner”. In effect, you were born a winner because you were faster than the 99.99999% sperms that couldn’t make it.
    • God’s plan for you to win was beyond conception. His prime goal is for you to achieve your purpose. He’s not giving up on you that’s why you’ve got to Trust Him. Trust that He’ll watch over His word or promises concerning your life to perform it.
    • Always talk to Him about every details of your life. That’s how trust is built. Your constant fellowship with Him ushers you onto greater heights that would enable you to have better view of His plan for your life.
  2. Trust the Process:
    • The pathway to your destiny were carefully mapped out by God. He factored your strength and weakness which makes it possible to have ups and lows. He also considered external factors that could impact your journey like people conspiring against you, famine, natural disasters, economic downturn, political instability, etc. Whatever it would take for you to win has been thought of and destiny helpers assigned to help you through.
    • You’ve got to trust the process. Nobody, ever lived, understood how God worked in their lives. They only trusted that since God was on their side, it would be well. That was why Joseph said that “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” God led Joseph to the end. His life was amazing despites some 13years of turbulences. He trusted God. He trusted the process. This enabled him to stand firm in temptation and incarceration.
    • Don’t stress yourself trying to figure out how God works because you won’t. This is one fact about life. If God should reveal what would happen and how people you call family and friends would treat you, there are many things you wouldn’t do, and many people you wouldn’t talk to. However, those events and/or people’s treatments are meant to catapult you into your destiny…like Joseph.
    • Trusting the process also means Trusting God’s leadership. The scripture says in Proverbs 20:24 that The Lord directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?
    • You can take a lesson from a passenger airliner. When you get on board, you either worry or enjoy. That’s you either worry about how the pilot would handle turbulences or emergencies, or you enjoy the journey believing that the pilot and entire crew are experienced to do their best under any circumstances.

Conclusion:

There are many things you don’t understand now and there would be couple of others you probably won’t understand till you die. But one thing is certain; God wouldn’t permit more than you can carry. He has equipped you so much so that if your remain faithful and live righteously, you would always come out better. Always remember that the One who helped you to outrun millions of sperms to fertilize the egg still sits on the throne and He is helping to achieve His glorious plans. This is why I strongly believe that You’ll Win. God bless you.

Understand The Dynamism of God In Battle

There is a story in 2 Samuel 5:17-25 which is key ingredient in our victories over life’s challenges. It’s a story about having Courage to Trust and Obey what God tells you in the face of your enemies’ attacks. It’s worth noting that God works in many ways, some you would never understand until you muster the courage to trust and obey.

God is dynamic in His ways: at one point, He said “strike the rock for water“. At another point, He said “speak to the rock for water“. Same outcome (WATER), Same Object (Rock), yet different approaches.
At the red sea, He said “pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea” (Exodus 14:16), and at Jordan, He said “Give this command to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant: When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there” (Joshua 3:8). Same Obstacle (water), Same Mission (crossing to other side), yet different approach.

In 2 Samuel 5, the Philistines mobilized all their forces to capture David. As a new king, they thought their best shot was to attack him before he grows horns. But as they approached, David asked the Lord “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?”v19. The Lord replied to David, “Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you.“v19. So King David went ahead and won the battle. Hallelujah!

Not long the Philistines return to fight David. It would have been natural for David to assume that these guys were defeated foes and same strategy would work. But when he asked God about what to do, the Lord replied “Do not attack them straight on. instead circle around behind and attack them near the poplar trees. When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the LORD is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army“v23-25

Here we see the same enemy at different times and God used different strategies. That’s how He works. David had the Courage to Trust and Obey what God told him to do.

In the same way, your enemy will strike at the news of your breakthrough. The Philistines ganged up against David when they heard that he was anointed to be king but God helped him to defeat them. Remember that Satan will not smile at successes (because he wants you poor, sick, depress,…and most importantly to doubt God). He will orchestrate an attack. It definitely won’t be Philistines army but some old family foes, friends, bosses, parents, etc. But when you see the signs (that’s gathering of the armies), talk to God for direction.

Don’t wait for the attack to be launched before you seek God’s help because your faith may not be enough to stand.

Be like David and seek help while there is time. Again, you need the Courage to Trust the kind of direction He (God) gives you. Mind you that your victory over the enemy/situation doesn’t mean it’s over because the enemy will come back stronger. His aim is to stop you as soon as he can. Therefore each time you see the signs (or gathering of armies), be smart enough to seek the Lord’s guidance and He will show you what to do.

Understanding the dynamism of God is important because it would compel you to rush to God continually for directions in order to defeat any agent of Satan that comes after you. You are Victorious in Christ Jesus…Trust in Him to enable you win your every battle.

When God Removes His Ladder

You happened to be hungry in a field . God was good to help you locate an apple tree but one thing was needed; a ladder. The fruits were beyond your reach and you could neither climb the tree. A passerby saw your desperation and decided to offer his ladder for you to plug some fruits. You got as many as you wanted and thanked him. Case Closed.

From my analogy, the fruits represent your vision, dreams, desires, targets, etc. The field is the earth and hunger your passion. The ladder represents opportunities, connections, ideas, favor, etc that come your way to help you achieve your dreams.

Everyone Needs a Ladder:

Everyone needs a Ladder to be successful. In fact, self-made billionaires got ladder(s) before reaching their respective heights. On critical point is that Ladders don’t come by themselves but they are provided or offered by Someone. You will never own a ladder but even if you do, the world changes so fast that what was good yesterday might not be relevant for today. This explains the interdependence of nations because no one has it all. We need ladder to be relevant in the world.

The Ultimate Provider of Ladder:

God is the producer of ladders but He distributes them through people and/or events. Sometimes He works through Angels. The scripture says that God “lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump” (Psalm 113:7). This uplifting is done them by providing a ladder for them to climb. Think about this, Heroes in the Bible had ladders from God.

Today, I can tell you on God’s authority that He has provided a ladder need to climb to the height he destined you to be. Take no credit for it but always recognize that every good thing you see in your life is the doing of the Lord.

Basic Requirements to hang onto God’s Ladder:

  • God requires you to continue your Trust in Him, to Obey Him, and to be Humble. I see these three as the basic requirements although you could add some more.
    • “Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord. ( Jeremiah 7:7, AMP)
    • Behold, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse— the blessing, if you listen to and obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today (Deut 11:26-27)
    • Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose]. (James 4:10, AMP)

What if you do otherwise:

  • Thus says the Lord, “Cursed is the man who trusts in and relies on mankind, Making [weak, faulty human] flesh his strength, And whose mind and heart turn away from the Lord. (Jeremiah 17:7, AMP)
  • “Behold, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse— and the curse, if you do not listen to and obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following (acknowledging, worshiping) other gods which you have not known. (Deut 11:26,28, AMP)
  • Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18, AMP)

When God removes His Ladder:

God isn’t in business of removing ladders but when He removes His ladder, the consequences are dire. Take a look at the photo below and consider what would happen if the other guy removes the ladder?

credit: chrismadden.co.uk

Again, God isn’t in the business of removing ladders but if you give Him the reason(s) to, He would. David recognized what could become of him if God removed His ladder so he prayed “Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me”. Nebuchadnezzar went to the forest for 7 years, Moses missed the promised land, the Kingdom was taken from Saul’s family, Israel went into captivity, etc.

Friend everything you desire to achieve is within reach. As you have thought about, It Is Possible. However, your prolong success depends on how tight you hold to Him; Trust Him, Obey Him, and Humble yourself in all things. He will do you good. Bless you!
