Start Today

He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].

(Ecclesiastes 11:4 AMP)

Today is the day you can begin what you have long waited for conditions to be perfect. I have found out in these few years that I have lived that conditions will never appear to be perfect. That is there will always be an excuse to defer what could be done today. And the more you procrastinate, the more optimistic you become that tomorrow will present another chance. But remember that today is yesterday’s tomorrow. In other words, if you have an excuse for every “today” then the “tomorrow” you wish for will never come.

What are you waiting for? What do you want to see before you begin taking steps? Know this every day that the day will do what it will do and you have to do what you can do. The scripture says that “He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].” Maybe you have been waiting for all conditions to be perfect but I came to encourage you that what you have now is enough to start. Start Today.

The Simple Truth About Life

According to RadioTimes.com, Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was reportedly watched by a peak of 37.5 million people in the UK., which was more than the over 10 million viewers who watched the funeral in the U.S. on the country’s major broadcast and cable outlets according to preliminary data from Nielsen. Globally, statista.com reported that the event had been tipped to draw some 4.1billion viewers which would make it the most watched event in history.

The Queen was a woman of faith and she never shied away from her belief in Jesus Christ. She had been on record for saying that “For me, the life of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose birth we celebrate today, is an inspiration and an anchor in my life. A role model of reconciliation and forgiveness, He stretched out His hands in love, acceptance, and healing. Christ’s example has taught me to seek to respect and value all people, of whatever faith or none.”. It’s no surprise that her funeral was watched by billions of people globally, who also witness the simple truth about this life; “Naked I came to my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return“. Her spirit left her body leaving behind all her riches.

The Queen left behind her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She left her beautiful kingdom behind. She left her power to lead and govern behind. Her choice of cars; Rolls Royce, Bentley, Range Rover, etc were left behind. According to express.co.uk, in 2002, Bentley gifted her two limousines, each costing £10million.
Buckingham palace was left behind. She didn’t leave the world with her crown, which has been estimated to be worth anywhere between $3.4billion to $5.7billion according to vogue.com.au. In effect, on April 21, 1926, she came to this earth with nothing, and on September 08, 2022, she left with nothing.

After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.

(1 Timothy 6:7, NLT)

For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.

(Psalm 49:17, NLT)

We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.

(Ecclesiastes 5:15, NLT)

Thus on September 19, 2022, as a record number of people watched and wished the queen their final farewell, we were reminded about this simple truth of life; someday when we come to the end of our lives, we can’t take anything with us. The rich and the poor would leave as they came. This would be the same for the most powerful and least vulnerable.

Knowing that this would be the common destination we all share, learn to respect people. Don’t let anything stand between you and people. Remember that people were created by God to be there for people. That’s why people show up at christening, birthdays, weddings, good times, bad times, funerals, etc. It’s sad that the very things that separate us are the things we shall leave behind. Therefore, Show respect to people because the same people (including strangers) would come around to show you their last respect when you die. God bless you.

You’re Special

God created everything with you in mind. He made the heavens, the earth, the sea, land, plants, animals, etc, and set them in motion before creating man and woman. Think of this like a husband and wife preparing to welcome a new baby. They would paint the house, buy his cot, clothes, food, diapers, water, etc. Well prepared parents set everything in motion, sometimes planning this child life upto the University before conception. And since no man or woman can be better prepared than God, you can imagine what God put in place before allowing you to enter the physical realm.

Here is the truth: Everything you see around was created because of you. God made them so that you wouldn’t only be amazed or wowed by them but they are meant to function for your survival.

God created everything by His power for our pleasure, and they function for our survival.

Therefore, when you see the Sea, or look up to see the beauties of the heavens, or you look at the forest, grass, and feel the air around you, know that they exist because of you. God set them up because you are His special possession.
