The Faith-Inspired Life

For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—

(2 Corinthians 5:7, AMP)

Scenario:

A guy went to the hospital to see the doctor because he had a headache. The doctor put him on some medications which he took and was made well.  My question is;
Who/What cured the guy’s headache? Was it the doctor, the medication, or himself?

I have asked people and quite a number of them believed that it was the doctor.

Think about this for a minute;
What if the guy hadn’t taken those tablets?
What if he never followed what the doctor said? Do you think He would have been healed?

I believed he played an important role in his recovery process. Three things to consider here:
1. He went to the Hospital because he believed that the doctor would have a solution.
2. He took possession of the medications the doctor prescribed and believed that they would work.
3. He obeyed the instructions given by the doctor.

Like this guy, maybe you have a problem or you are in a situation that you have been struggling to find a way out of. You have spoken to the Doctor (God), who has given you the medications (His Word) you need to be healed (get out of the situation). If only you would obey His instructions and do as He says, you will be out of the situation. Maybe you are waiting for God to take the medicine for you but it never works that way. God has made it your responsibility to comply with the medication in order to enjoy its efficacy.

The Faith-inspired life is a life that lives based on what he/she believes. His/Her lifestyle is inspired by his/her Faith (which is spiritual). For instance, you go to God in prayer because you believe that He would help you. After you have prayed, the next thing you have is to let your words and actions be inspired by what He says through whatever means He chooses. It could be direct, or through another person, or event, etc.

During Jesus’ days, he attributed people receiving their miracles to their Faith.

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.

(Matthew 9:12)

And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

(Luke 17:19)

God works with your faith. It’s your Faith that will open the windows of Heaven. We walk by Faith, we live by Faith. The truth is without it, it will be impossible to please God.

The good news here is this; you don’t need any bigger faith to get things done. All you need is the size of a mustard seed.  Like picking up the phone to call in spite of your fear of rejection.
Let your actions be inspired by your Faith.

“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!

(Luke 17:6 NLT)

Make Room For Your Blessings

God makes everything happen at the right time. Yet none of us can ever fully understand all he has done, and he puts questions in our minds about the past and the future.

Ecclesiastes 3:11, CEV

There is a set time for everything you need. It could be today, tomorrow, next week, or next year. It takes faith to trust in God’s timing. The Scripture says that God makes everything happen at the right time. In other words, He knows the right time and we must be ready to receive.
This reminds me of what happened in the movie Facing The Giants. Mr. Bridges’ words motivated Coach Taylor to prepare his field against the Giants.

  • Mr. Bridges: Two farmers desperately needed rain. And both of them prayed for rain but only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it. Which one do you think trusted God to send the rain?
  • Coach Taylor: Well the one who prepared his fields for it.
  • Mr. Bridges: Which one are you? God will send the rain when He is ready. It’s your job to prepare your field to receive it.

God will do His part and I believe He is waiting for you to make room to receive. I heard a story about a guy who needed 32″ TV from his father. His father told him that there was no space in his ( the boy) room for the TV. The father traveled one weekend and when he returned, his son had dashed out his old TV and other things to create enough space for the 32″ TV. When his dad saw his faith, he bought the TV for him the following day.

God wants you to stay in faith. He wants you to prepare your field to receive. The farmer who prepared his field believed that God will send the rain. He didn’t have to wait for a sign to believe that God would send the rain.

  • How about you?
    • What are the things you seek from God?
    • Do you trust that God will send rain?
    • Have you or Are you preparing your field, even now?
    • In Mark 11:24, Jesus said “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

God will open the windows of heaven for you. He will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to store them. But the truth is you must be ready to receive. You have to prepare your field to receive His blessings.

God bless you!

Thought for the Day: Faith Makes Things Possible (02.02.22)

And the Lord said, “If you have [confident, abiding] faith in God [even as small] as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree [which has very strong roots], ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea’; and [if the request was in agreement with the will of God] it would have obeyed you.

(Luke 17:6, AMP)

Faith makes things happen for you in this world because God made the Universe and everything in it by Faith. He spoke/commanded and they appeared. Since He made you in His image and likeness, and His Holy Spirit lives in you, you have the ability to command things to function according to your Words. Faith makes it possible for you to bring into reality what God has for you in His depository. Have you any Faith?

  • Have you got a strong feeling for something that is in agreement with God’s will?
  • Do you feel strongly that there is a step you can take to make that possible?
  • Taking that step is an act of faith. Forget about the size because Jesus said even if it is as small as a mustard seed, it can trigger huge response.
