Confident Hope

He who is the faithful to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

(Revelation 22:20, NLT)

Is it possible that there are no terrorist attacks in the world? Or no war in Syria, Eastern Ukraine, Middle East, Yemen, etc? Or the focus of the Media’s cameras are shifted to Covid-19? Are there no famine at places?
I gather from the News and world leaders that once this invincible enemy is defeated, there will be normalcy.
Does the normalcy means going back to hear same old news of plane crash, mass shooting, hotels and mall siege, war, road accidents, climate change, seasonal flu, etc.? Like the unseen virus, these kill innocent people and cause pains. The death of innocent people aren’t normal…So if we’re going to return to normalcy and it would mean living with these things happening, then You and I have got to Trust in Someone Stronger and Hope for Something Better.

The Real Invincible Enemy

The invincible enemy we face as human isn’t some virus trying to seek global attention but Satan and his demons. And as long as we live in this body, on this earth, these troubles won’t cease. There will be wars, sicknesses, diseases, terrorist acts, among others. No man can offer lasting solution(s) because so long as your enemy lives, you’re prone to attacks.

Hope on Earth

There’s Hope for you as a child of God. These guys perpetuating evil on earth have already been judged. Satan knows his fate so he will do his worst. God knows that too that’s why Psalm 91:4 says that “He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge“. The enemy can’t harm you.

Psalm 91 is so TRUE that even Satan (himself) quoted it when he tempted Jesus. Satan knew that “he (God) shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” (emphasis added). If this wasn’t accurate at Jesus’ time, then Satan would by no means use it. But since it was God’s promise, a decree, and binding, Jesus didn’t refute it but also quoted “You must not test the Lord your God” Matthew 4:7. Satan knows that in times of trouble, Angels would quickly intercept to keep you safe.

Therefore don’t be terrified by the News because God (in Whom you trust) promises about protection is as potent as it was years ago.

Jesus is Coming Again

On earth, we’re covered by His Blood, protected by Angels, and we’ve authority to USE His Name to effect changes but Our confident Hope is that Jesus is Coming Again. The signs are obvious and very soon He would come to get us Home.

When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

(John 14:3, NLT)

I don’t about you but I am confident that our efforts and sacrifices won’t be in vain when our Lord Jesus comes. I am excited as I write this because we will forever be with Jesus and see our loved once we missed dearly. God has beautiful plan for us so don’t miss out. Jesus Christ Loves You, dearly. Amen

Strategically Ordered Steps

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every details of their lives

(Psalm 37:23, NLT)

God is interested in every details of your life. He cares about everything you do that’s why He guards your going out and coming in. Jesus gave a perfect picture to demonstrate the extent to which God cares about you when He said “even the hairs of your head are all numbered” (Luke 12:7).

Why is He interested in Things You do?

He is interested because you are His child and He wants you well. He knows that your sight is limited to see beyond the sense realm, and your strength is limited to face the kind of enemies Paul described in Ephesians 6. He knows that there are many selfish and evil people on your streets, workplace, etc. As a result, if He takes His eyes off you, you will be devoured.
Another important point is that He brought you into this world for unique purpose and it’s His responsibility, if you would permit Him, to guard and guide you to achieve that purpose.

King David’s Story

David’s life is a template when considering how God guides His children in achieving the ultimate purpose. At age 17, he was anointed to be the next king of Israel. Here lies the danger of thinking that God would treat you same as He did with your predecessor, role model, friend, etc. When Saul was anointed to be king, he barely faced any opposition. He became the first king and one would have thought, including Samuel, that David’s own would follow same.

However, David was starting a journey where he would have to rely on God at every step along the way. Within 13 years (as a shepherd), with no military experience, he killed an expert killer and consequently was enrolled in the army. He was made commander over the men of war, a position his own brothers who were in the army for long never occupied. He ran away from his people and lived among his enemies and in caves. He acted like a mad man and was always on the run. In all these, God strategically ordered his steps (ways) till the final moment came.

David made decision to fight alongside the philistines against Israel but the philistines thought David could betray them in battle so they told him to go home with his men. The Bible says that when they got to Ziklag three days later, the Amalekites had raided the town, made away with everything and burnt the town. Here is what happened after; while David was chasing the Amalekites in the South, Saul was going to battle the Philistines in the north. David recovered everything and got back safely with his men only to receive the news that Saul was dead on the third day.

Another point to consider is; if God hadn’t used the Amalekites as distraction, David and his men would have been informed about Israel being conquered by the philistines and they would have gone to support Saul in battle, which in turn would have prolong God’s purpose for his life. I believe that what happened at Ziklag was a major distraction God orchestrated so that He could deal with Saul for his disobedience. At Ziklag, David wept bitterly with his men and they even thought of stoning him, Yet this bitter experience was a doorway to his success. Can you relate this to any event in your life?

God led David to the throne just as he promised.

Conclusion:

You can trust that God’s plans for your life will come to pass as you remain as His child. You have to be aware that sometimes God will reveal the promise to you before preparation. That’s when you have to learn to deal with betrayals, death threats, rejections, pains, pride, and also learn to love your enemies, master over your weaknesses and trust Him to lead you.

He has high stakes in you thus He constantly watch over His Word (Promise) to perform it. Don’t give up and turn to human help when the path looks blur. Instead be like David and ask Him about the next step you should take. At one point, David asked God these questions (in my own words): Would Saul come here? and God answered Yes. Then he asked again; Would the people betray my men and I? and the answer was Yes. With these answers from God, David left the place. ref: 1 Samuel 23:10-12.

Friend, God is watching over you and until you accomplish His purpose for your life, He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is strategically ordering your steps…STAY CALM.

How to Stay Refreshed in a Day

Getting up in the morning can sometimes be frustrating especially when you barely had enough sleep and your day is fully packed. In spite of how your day might look, judging from the morning, here are 3 things you can do to help you stay refreshed as you keep marking your To Do List.

  • Be Thankful
    • When you open your eyes in the morning, before you get out of your bed, say THANK YOU to God for yet another beautiful day. Thank Him for Life, good health, and all He has for you in the day.
    • Showing gratitude is simple way of telling someone I appreciate what you have done. Everyone wants to see the worth of what they do. So as you keep pouring this blessing on others, you are energizing them to do more, boosting their confidence, and the smiles you see on their faces is enough medicine for you socially and psychologically.
    • In moments where you have to criticize someone on their work, first appreciate the efforts put into getting the work done before outlining deficiencies. It’s better that way.
    • Finally before you end your day, spend some time to thank those who contributed into you having fruitful day

  • Spend Some Time With God
    • Seeing a new day is not an accident. It means you still have some unfinished business to do for God and humanity.
    • David put it this way You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book! (Psalm 139:16)
    • God knows what’s ahead of you so it’s wise to spend some time with Him for direction. This can be done early morning and during the day when a lot seems to be happening around you.
    • Just as you would easily turn to your phone and search google for information, you can also turn to the Omniscience God for every insight you need.
  • Help Others
    • Someone needs your help everyday. While this is true, it doesn’t mean you step out trying to help everybody. You can’t do that.
    • Here is what you should do: As you pray in the morning, ask the Holy Spirit to either direct you to people you need to support or direct them to you.
    • For me when I meet them, there is a strong nudge to give whatever they ask for and interestingly enough whatever being asked for tends to be within my means at the time.
    • I remember one day someone approached me asked for money. I heard from within my spirit that I should give double the amount which I did. What I saw next amazed me. This guy lifted his hands up with the money and shouted ” Thank you Jesus!” for like 5 times, singing and praising God as he left. That was wow for me cos at that moment, I forgot about all the struggles I was facing that day and my mood switched into thanking God too. And that day was good for me.

Every 24hours you receive is a resource you should spend well. You’ve got to be productive in your field. I believe that regardless of how your day would be, whether weekday or weekend, practicing these 3 things would spice you up because great day isn’t only measured by what you achieve or do but (also) by how relevant you remain to others. God bless you.
