JESUS CALMS THE STORM

Storm Front July 27 2010

Matthew 8:23-27 This story caught my attention last night when I was studying; what happened, how it happened, when it happened, etc. Jesus was on a boat with his disciples. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the wave swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. Isn’t it surprising for a person to sleep in the midst of furious storm?

“…he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…”

Jesus knew God was in control. He knew God started with them, and He was going to see them through. Unfortunately, His disciples didn’t know that…

Storms of life are inevitable. You can’t skip. That is why we need to be stuck in the Word of God. Jesus was stuck in His Fathers strength so He was not moved when the storm came.

God has promised us a very peaceful destination. He knows how He is going to see us through because He sees the end from start. Challenges are bound to come. They can’t be stopped but our attitude toward them will determine our level of Faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus slept because He knew God was more than able to handle the storm.

While others were crying for help, Jesus did something else; He rebuked the storm. Someone once said “stop talking to God about your problems and start talking to your problems about how big Your God is.” We have power as God’s children and Jesus demonstrated that. In every situation, talking to others about how unpleasant, big, etc. will not solve the problem. Crying wouldn’t make any differnce. You may die if you look around for help. Stand up and start talking to your problems about our Father.

I want to encourage you today that some people just graduated from what you are facing now and they never gave up. You don’t have to give up. Know that Storms are bound to come but God is faithful who wouldn’t let you be consumed. Jesus saved the disciples when they couldn’t stand. He will save you today too.

A TOUCH OF GOD’S FAVOR

20And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment;  21For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health. Matthew 9:20-21.

In our daily lives, we face challenges; some huge, some small. We struggle to fix things our own ways. We prefer to carry our heavy burdens alone. That fact is Jesus cares. Thus the scripture says “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” After all these years of struggling with that addiction, suffering, broken heart, rejection, abuse, failure, other negative situations, am here to encourage you today to Cast them all on Jesus. All you need is just a touch of God’s Favor.

Favor is deceitful. Favor ain’t fair. God’s Favor will make things go your way when you don’t deserve them. It will do stuff the way you want them to be. You may not understand but people will break rules for you. A touch of God’s favor – all your struggles, pains, fears, sorrows will disappear.

Esther was accepted because of the Favor of God. Samuel was loved because of God’s Favor. David had the Favor of God. Joseph had that too. Noah, Gideon, Moses, Mary, Jesus, etc. all had the Favor of God. Am not so surprised they could do supernatural things on earth. You have the Favor of God. I heard the story of Bishop T.D Jakes; he had a touch of God’s Favor and that made him who he is today.

When you have a touch of God’s favor, you will produce amazing results. Where others failed to win, you will go there, do the same thing, and you will win. Where others are rejected, you will be accepted. Friends, Families, Strangers will always be confused about your life. They will cease to understand your life because of the extraordinary things you will do.

Be encouraged today that with a touch of His Favor, your life will turn around.

The LORD gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab‘s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.

Today, I pray God gives you special Strength to do things you couldn’t do before. I pray he impacts Speed upon your life. I believe the Power of God, the Mercy of God, and the Favor of God will be your portion. The Holy Spirit will order your steps. I call an end to every negative situation in Jesus’ Name! May you begin to experience supernatural victories, supernatural miracles, signs, and wonders in the mighty Name of Jesus! Amen.

My Prayer for you

I release the Power of God upon your life. I call all things that look impossible in your life to be Possible in the Name of Jesus! Today, may you begin to experience a touch of God’s Favor in an extraordinary way; Abba Father, All things are Possible with you; I thank You for hearing me, and I call all things done in the life of this lovely person reading this Note in Jesus Name. Amen.

GIVING YOUR WIDOW’S MITE

GIVE EVERYTHING

Giving your widow’s mite unleash supernatural blessings. First of all, I will emphasize that God loves a cheerful giver. He expects us to give with joy, happiness, and be more positive with what we are giving. Most of us believe in Giving. We believe in “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38. When you give ordinary, you get something ordinary. However, when you give your widow’s mite, you receive supernatural blessings you can’t contain. Such blessings never cease.

What is the Widow’s mite?

And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. 42And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.[f] 43And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box44For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” mark 12:41-44. The widow’s mite is giving everything you have. From the scripture, the other people contributed out of their abundance. Giving all you have is giving your widow’s mite. I know it looks unreasonable, considering the fact that you have to plan for tomorrow. But God’s ways are above our ways, and His thoughts are above ours. He knows what He will do to bless you immeasurable that tomorrow.

What happens after giving your widow’s mite?

Giving you Widow’s mite means giving everything you have either to support God’s Kingdom, or to support your neighbor. Jesus said in John 12 24I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.” When you give bountifully, you put a seed into the earth. The seed dies before it grows up, which means in the short run, depending on your faith, you will experience some difficulties. Things will get a bit tough, your bills may pile up, etc. but when it starts growing, it will produce many others and yield a rich harvest. Anytime you plan to give all to Jesus, be ready to face short term hardship, probably for some minutes, hours, a day, a week, or a month. In the end, you will have good measure, pressed down, running over from God and Men.

What do have to give?

Our Father set the example for us to follow. He gave us His only begotten son. He knew that the only way He could draw all to Himself was to give what He treasured most – His son. Jesus gave His best for us all. He shed His blood for us. Abraham received the Promise after making the attempt to sacrifice all he had. The widow gave all she had for herself and her son to Elijah.

Let me ask you;

Are you ready to give all to Jesus?

Whatever (Car, building, business, wife, children, friends, etc) takes your time, energy, etc more than God is a god to you. Your Father is jealous God who wouldn’t allow anything to take you away from Him. I heard of a story a certain man in a certain city. He had a daughter and he planned to build a big mansion for her. At the same time, the church needed money to put up a place for worship. He said no to the church but used his resources to build the mansion for the daughter. He planned a day to transfer ownership to the daughter but the daughter died some days before the day fixed. I don’t mean to scare you but when the Lord needs something, don’t hesitate. The man later gave the building to the church.

Listen to your spirit now, what is it telling you to give? Just Obey!

The life of a Giver

  • Proverb 11:24. One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
  • 2 Corinthians 9:6.  Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
  • Proverbs 11:23. The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.
  • Proverbs 11:25. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
  • Proverbs 13:7. One man pretends to be rich yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.
  • Proverbs 28:27. He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.

There are more blessings in giving than receiving. Give cheerfully and God will reward you bountifully. Next time you are giving, either to support God’s Kingdom or your neighbor, give your widow’s mite and you will never regret you did.
