WHAT REPORT DO YOU HAVE THIS YEAR?

HOPESo they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: (Numbers 13:32 NLT)

What report do you have this year?

Is it a good report or a bad report? Good report is the report that speaks faith. It sees possibility in what seems impossible. It doesn’t consider facts but rely on God’s Word. Only few people have good reports about their situations. It’s no surprising because among the twelve spies that went out for the forty days, only Joshua and Caleb brought good report. They believed that God was more than able give them the Land but the others had no hope. Do you have hope in God?
Many believers claim they believe in God but they doubt if He could turn their situations around. They believe in their doctors more than the Senior Doctor Jesus. They trust in the news more than the Good News of our Lord. They rely on people’s promises more than what God has promised concerning their lives. They pray but they don’t receive because doubts have filled their hearts. They have bad reports about their lives. Bad report is anything you believe (accept, trust) that is contrary to what God has promised. It keeps people in their comfort zones. You are carrying a bad report if you are afraid of the future.

Hear what God said about those who believed in the bad report;
And the L ord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them? I will disown them and destroy them with a plague. Then I will make you into a nation greater and mightier than they are!” (Numbers 14:11, 12 NLT)
He added that;
But as surely as I live, and as surely as the earth is filled with the L ord ’s glory, not one of these people will ever enter that land. They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice. They will never even see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have treated me with contempt will ever see it. (Numbers 14:21-23 NLT)

What report are you carrying with you this year?

Our God is a faithful God. He is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? (Numbers 23:19 NLT). Joshua and Caleb believed in God. They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! And if the L ord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. Do not rebel against the L ord , and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the L ord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!” (Numbers 14:7-9 NLT). You’ve got to trust in the God you serve. You’ve got to believe that what God has promised, He is able to perform. I trust He will see you through so Believe in Him. Don’t be afraid of what lies ahead of you because God is with you.

Friend, I don’t know the kind of obstacle you see as you journey to your promise land. I don’t have any idea about the giant that you see occupying your promised land. Your promise land could be your marriage, education, ministry, business, family, health, finance, accommodation, happiness, etc. The type of report you have about your situation will determine your level of faith and how you trust God. It will also determine whether you can achieve your goals or enjoy the milk and honey that flow on the land. When you doubt God’s power to perform, it means you have a bad report. And according to James 1, don’t think you will receive anything from Him.

I believe in this year we are going to have good reports about our lives in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

GOD IS WITH YOU

There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Joshua 1:5 KJV)

I want to talk about Haman and Mordecai today. Haman was a man of honour. he had practically everything yet he sought the death of Mordecai who sat at the king’s gate. He looked for way to destroy not only Mordecai, but the Jews throughout the whole kingdom of Xerves because Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honour. Haman did all he could but Mordecai was honoured in the end. It was unfortunate that Haman got to know the truth at the last hour. His wise advisers and his wife said, “Since Mordecai—this man who has humiliated you—is of Jewish birth, you will never succeed in your plans against him. It will be fatal to continue opposing him.” (Esther 6:13 NLT). He was hanged on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. He failed because God was with His people.

They will fight you, but they will fail.
For I am with you, and I will take care of you.
I, the LORD, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 1:19 NLT)

The scripture says “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” (Hebrews 10:23 NLT). God can be trusted to keep his promise. Be encouraged today that they will fight you, but they will fail. They will plan, but their plans will fail. And it will be fatal for them to continue opposing you. God is with you, and He will take care of you.

God bless you!

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6

One weapon the enemy is using in these last days is discouragement. He will use people to discourage you to quit your job, leave your home, quit your relationship, stop praying, stop going to church, etc. He doesn’t want the best for you so he will discourage you. He is happy when you are sick, depressed, worried, and afraid. He will tell you “there is no way this can ever be”. He will give you facts to let you believe that there is no hope in whatever you are going through. David encountered the same situation. They returned from battle to see their city on fire, and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. The Bible says David was greatly distressed for the people spake of stoning him. Everyone was against David but he encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Could it be that you made a mistake and everyone is against you? Could it be that your spouse or partner doesn’t trust you for a mistake you committed years ago? Could it be that you are no more accepted by the very people who appreciated everything you did in the past? Could it be that you are unemployed? Whatever the situation may be, I want you to encourage yourself in the Lord. Sometimes when there is no one to encourage you, you have to encourage yourself. Speak positive words to yourself. Read the word of God for strength.

“…those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” (Isaiah 40:31 AMP)

Could you guess what happened after David encouraged himself? He enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

God wants you to be courageous. He told Joshua “Only be thou strong and very courageous”.

I came to encourage you with these words and it is my prayer that God will give you strength and power to come out of every negative situation in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
