SOMETHING NEW

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19 NIV84)

God is faithful; He does what He says. Joshua said that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. (Joshua 23:14 KJV). Solomon added that You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today. (2 Chronicles 6:15 NIV84). These two men testified about God’s faithfulness. What am I trying to say? Well! God says “I am doing a new thing” we have got to make room for the new thing He is about to do.

Let me say something about repentance. Repent, according to Merriam-Webster, is to change one’s mind. Most of us have to change the way we think or perceive things around us. Could we have something new without a change of mind? Jesus said that No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. (Luke 5:38 NIV84). The new thing God is doing require us to repent, and to put on a new attitude. Begin to see things from the right perspective. God doesn’t work with the customs of this world. Remember when others had dug well and nothing came out, Isaac dug his at the same location, and water came out. At one point, he planted and harvested hundredfold the same year. Hear me today, Our God works in mysterious ways. He works in ways we cannot see. He will show a way where there seems to be no way.

I know when we look around us today, there has been major road accidents, plane crashes, terrorist attacks, famine, drought, poverty, etc,. These things are happening in this world but our God is a shield around His Children. I tell people God knows His own. Instead of us to live in fear, let us live by Faith. Let us have Faith in our God that He is more than able to provide our needs, protect us, shelter us, fill our empty cups. All things are working together for our good. I want to encourage you today to Change your mind for the new thing God is doing in our lives. Faithful is He who has promised.

I don’t know what you are going through but I do know Who I am talking about. Dried bones came back to life, red sea parted, Walls of Jericho came down flat, the dead came back to life, the blind had their sights, lepers were healed, money came out of fish mouth, few loaves for thousands, Jesus came, died, rose again, ascended to the Father. As a matter of fact, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD.

The truth is I don’t know the new thing He is doing in your life but I believe is something Good and better than what you have now. Expect something BIG. In Jeremiah, He said For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV84)

My understanding of Isaiah 43:19 is God is doing something new. Something which is above and beyond what we have asked or thought. He is doing the unthinkable, he is doing the unimaginable. He is going to surprise you in Jesus’ Name! Amen.

Change your mind for the new thing God has promised.

I will close with this:

Then Jesus gave them this illustration: “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to patch an old garment. For then the new garment would be ruined, and the new patch wouldn’t even match the old garment.

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine must be stored in new wineskins. (Luke 5:36-38 NLT)

Stop dwelling on the Past

This is what the Lord says- he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters…Forget the former things; do not dwell on the pastIsaiah 43:18

Do not dwell on your past success, business, happiness, friendship, relationship, etc. Do not dwell on the past life. Stop blaming yourself for what couldn’t go on well in the past. And do not keep the pains of yesterday.

If things didn’t go on well (probably last year, last month, last week, yesterday), let them go. Don’t start your day worrying about bad things that happened the day before. Remember what the psalmist said “this is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” psalm 118:24.

You can’t do anything about the past. However, you can make plans today to have a better tomorrow. God knows your future more than you knew your past. The only truth about the past is it hinders you from receiving the best from the Lord.

Paul said in Philippians 3:13 that “…But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” NIV

In verse 19 of Isaiah 43, God said “see, I am doing a new thing (in your life)! Now it shall spring up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland” God will not say what He can’t do. As a matter of fact, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH HIMMark 10:17. He is what He says He is. If He says He is doing a new thing in your life, it means He is doing a new thing in your life. He is faithful. Where your strength ends is where He begins. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. Where there is no Hope, He brings hope. Where there is no Joy, He brings joy.

I know the God I serve. He is I am that I am. He is the first and the last. I know what He can do in just a minute. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. He can do it for you.

He is telling you today to forget the former things and focus on what He can do for you today and tomorrow.

God bless you as you leave the past behind in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME

Most of us would want God to answer us and do as we bid immediately we call on Him. Yet, God doesn’t always fix our problems as soon as we press His door bell in prayer. In fact, many Christians may have wondered whether God is mindful of time and season as they wait for what seems to them like eternity for Him to grant their requests.

Actually, no one keeps to time like God. But, God doesn’t fix or reckon with time the way we do. So, our sense and appreciation of time differ from His. He hath made everything beautiful in his time, the scripture declares, and added that His thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways… For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts Ecclesiastes 3:11; Isaiah 55:8, 9.

There is no variation in God’s timing, unlike ours. His watch or calendar is set with divine precision such that He can neither act too late nor too early. Consequently, those that come to God for help must be ready to calmly wait for His own time not theirs.

We feel God is too late for our comfort and cautiously blame Him for slowness because we don’t understand His nature in this regard. The divine concept of time isn’t about the ticking of the clock or the rolling up of a calendar. It is about precise implementation of God’s programme and purpose for His creatures. Yes, God does have a time-frame for all His actions; but He doesn’t use the human watch or calendar. Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day 2 peter 3:8. Thus, when we will have started to feel that God is behind schedule, the loving Father smiles and says “No child, I’m right on time.”
