You Are Not Ordinary

lordismystrength_nivBehold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19, KJV)

No man in his natural ability can defeat Satan and his demons. Satan’s number one task is to turn your heart against God. He uses sickness, fear, disappointment, poverty, depression, temptation, among others to take your mind from the things of God. He wants you to doubt God’s power to supply your needs. He is smart and knows how to get to your weak point. He attacks you when you are weary and anxious. He was in the Garden of Eden, he tempted all the great prophets and apostles and our Lord Jesus Christ.  If experience is anything to go talk about, Satan is experienced in turning man’s heart against God.

Jesus, knowing that man can’t fight with his strength, gave us power to live in this world. In Luke 10:18, Jesus said “I beheld Satan as lighting fall from heaven.” That wasn’t good news for man as man became vulnerable to his attacks. The only remedy for us was Jesus Christ. Jesus came to destroy his works and to give us power to do what we couldn’t do on our own. So when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you received Power over all the abilities of the enemy.

You have power over sickness, poverty, fear, disappointment, discouragement, sin, temptation, broken-heart, etc. Surprisingly, some believers don’t know that they are equipped so when they see obstacles in front of them, they give up. Such people live as those without Jesus. As a result, when the world is crying because of economic hardship, they join them. When the world is terrified about outbreak of diseases, they are also terrified. When people are insecure, they feel the same. They don’t know that they are lights of the world. They haven’t realised the power that is at work in them. Its high time believers believed that God’s arm isn’t weak to save them, nor his ear deaf to hear them call. Our God is mighty to save.

Paul said in Romans 12:2 (NLT) that “Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Friend let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. This should be your prayer each day because the enemy attacks your thoughts when he gets the chance. Know that you are not ordinary: You have been born of God, His Spirit lives you, His angels are protecting you, and you have supernatural power to do wonders in this world. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. “They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!” Deuteronomy 28:7.

If all of us will know and exercise the authority we have in Jesus Christ, then we can live best lives and reach out to save many.

I will close with this:

We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. (1 John 5:18, NLT)

THREE THINGS JESUS DOESN’T WANT YOU TO DO THIS MONTH

three-thingsI want to talk about three things Jesus doesn’t want you to do this month. He doesn’t want you to worry. He doesn’t want you to doubt. And He doesn’t want you to be afraid.

DON’T WORRY
He doesn’t want you to worry because God made provision for your needs before He allowed you into your mother’s womb. God has already blessed you with every spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus. Therefore you have all things as Jesus lives in you. The Scripture says Christ in you, the hope of glory. Jesus doesn’t want you to worry about everyday life.

That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. (Matthew 6:25-32 NLT)

DON’T DOUBT
Gabriel told Mary that “For nothing is impossible with God. ” (Luke 1:37 NLT). God will supply your needs if you believe. In mark 11:24, Jesus said “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24 NLT). Jesus doesn’t want you to doubt after you have prayed. If you do , you shall not receive anything from the Lord. James 1:7

Then Jesus told them,

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.
” (Matthew 21:21, 22 NLT)

DON’T BE AFRAID
The scripture says God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7. He has equipped you for every battle therefore He doesn’t want you to be afraid of satan and his demons. He doesn’t want you to afraid of storms of life because you have power to calm them down.

In Luke 10:19 Jesus said

“Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you
.” (Luke 10:19 NLT)

CONCLUSION
Friend, Jesus has given you Power over all the abilities of the enemy. All those who oppose you will be reduced to nothing. Secondly, Jesus wants you to pray about your needs. After you have prayed, believe that you have received them and they will be yours. Don’t doubt God’s Power to perform. Don’t try to figure out how God is going to do it because His ways are higher than your ways. And Finally, as you wait for God to shower His blessings upon your life, don’t worry about anything. Worrying will make you doubt God, and you will end up being afraid of the unknown. That is you will end up living in fear instead of faith.

POWER AND AUTHORITY

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and cure diseases. He sent them to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1,2. NKJV

Have you accepted Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your soul?

If No, then I want you to know that your end is eternal destruction so accept Jesus today in order to have eternal life for your soul. Read this; COME TO THE FATHER. However, if your answer is Yes, then you are the person I am talking to today. You received Power and Authority over all demons, and to cure diseases the day you accepted Him into your life. Your duty on this earth is to do what He has commanded; preach the Kingdom of God. You are not on earth to make money, build houses, marry the most beautiful lady, give birth, establish companies, live long, and die. These are all important but they are means to an end. The scripture says Heaven and Earth will pass away. That means everything we are struggling for in this life will pass away. But the human soul you will save will live forever. Jesus knew how difficult the task would be so He gave us Power and Authority. You have power to Heal the sick, Cleanse the lepers, Raise the dead, Cast out demons. Matthew 10:8.

The problem I have realised in our world today is some believers cannot ever heal themselves of small fevers, blood pressure, and headaches. They prefer to hear what their doctors have got to say about their situations before they talk to God. They would rather watch the news and believe everything, live in fear, than to trust in God Power and Promises concerning their lives. The question is; if you are unable to use this Power and Authority in your private life, how are you going to heal your neighbour, let alone raising the dead? Friend, you have Power on the inside of you. The scripture added that you will also declare a thing, and it shall be established for you. Job 22:28.

Be encouraged to use the Power and Authority you received on the inside of you. God doesn’t want to see you struggling in this life. He wants you to prosper, have all you desire, so that you wouldn’t have any excuse for not performing your task which is to preach the gospel to every creature.

Don’t be the servant who hid his talent in the ground in Matthew 25 because he was cast into the outer darkness. Jesus is coming soon therefore use what you have.
