Thought For The Day: Ordered Steps (05.21.21)

I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

(Ecclesiastes 9:11, NLT) emphasis added

Think about these:

  • How was David able to get to the battlefield at the point when Goliath was defying God, words that make David angry enough to want to kill Him? (1 Samuel 17)
  • How did the widow get to the palace about the time when Gehazi was telling on her story to the king? (2 Kings 8)

It wasn’t coincidence but God ordering their steps to be at the right place at the right time. Going forward, I am only trusting that God orders your steps in order for you to be at the right place at the right time…just when your help is needed.

Reading this post isn’t any coincidence but a reminder that Be ready to be thrust into the next higher level of your life. You will be at the right place at the right time. Hallelujah!

God The Promise Keeper (part 1)

…Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!

(Joshua 23:14, NLT)

The mantle of leadership fell upon Joshua when Moses completed his assignment. He would lead God’s children to win many battles and give them the land as promised.

In the final days of his life, Joshua called the elders and said “Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!”

He looked back from Egypt days when he was young to the present time and attested that God had been faithful. This is a reminder that (sometimes) although it is difficult to talk about God’s faithfulness at the beginning of the journey, when you look back and connect the dots you are able to see the hand of God at work in ensuring that His promises come to pass. He is Faithful.

Today I want to reecho that God is the Promise Keeper. The challenges you face are only transitional and you can trust God to guard and guide you to your promised land. He will fulfill every word spoken concerning you life.

The question is: Do you have knowledge about God’s plan/purpose/promise for your life?

It’s one thing talking about generic promises of God for mankind and another thing knowing His specific promises for your life. In Joshua’s scenario, God had promise for Israel community and specific promise for Joshua. His promise to Israel was to give them the land and prosper them as He promised Abraham but to Joshua God said that “No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” (Joshua 1:5). By the time Joshua’s days on earth were over, he saw God manifesting every spoken word concerning Israel and his life.

If you know God’s promise(s) for your life, then you can rest assured that He will watch over them and ensure that they come to pass in your lifetime.

However if you have no clue yet, now is a perfect to spend some time before His presence and be ready to avail yourself for His Word. After all Abraham was 75 years and Moses 80 years before they had their encounter.

Note that There is always a task with the promise so you will err if you think that He would say “I have made you rich” and that’s it.
What would you do with the riches? it might mean that you take care and/or sponsor an orphanage or take care of His children who are still under satanic bondage, and not to buy a Lamborghini or live in a fancy mansion. God is Faithful but are you going to be faithful?

To be continued…

Let Love Win

Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.

(Proverbs 17:9, NLT)

Jesus said that “your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35, NLT). One way of showing love (that seems simple yet complicated) is forgiving people’s fault, especially those who hurt you on purpose.

It might appear to be difficult but when you consider what God did through Jesus Christ, in that He made allowances for your faults before you made them, you can find a place in your heart to forgive.

Search your heart today and make a determination to let Love prosper. Forgive and your heavenly Father will also forgive your wrongs. Both ways show that Love wins.
