Mustard Seeds

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible” (Matthew 17:20, NLT. Emphasis added)

Sweet Fellowship with Daddy

cropped-our-god-is-love.jpgHaving a Sweet Fellowship with Our heavenly Father is the zenith you can reach in your walk with our Daddy (God). The scripture says that “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Genesis 5:24, KJV). Walking with Daddy has many benefits…first of all, I refer to walking with Daddy as Sweet Fellowship because it is the sweetest experience you would ever have on earth.

Permit me to draw a little contrast between our relationship people in power on earth and that of our Father in Heaven.

When it is getting to election, we see politician trooping into schools, churches, restaurants, joining public transports, etc in order to convey their message(s) to us. They beg us for Power. They use “We” to include you and I in their political campaign and they would do anything to make us believe that they would behave different when we give them power. During those times, you don’t need to follow protocol to meet them and every suggestion, comment, idea, etc is welcomed.

However, we (electorates) are often disappointed after they are elected as presidents, MPs, Senators, etc. because once Power has been given to them, its about them, their family and friends. They do what they think would benefit the majority that voted them into power. It becomes very difficult in seeing or meeting them as the gap between them and electorates widens. The relationship sometimes turns sour before they leave office. In summary, we vote for them…we give them Power, and some use the same Power against us.

Relationship with Our Daddy

We experience something different when it comes to Our Father. Here, He created us and close the gapmade the Sun to shine upon us in the day and the Moon at night. He provides the air we breathe and freely gives us the basic things we need for life. He created the Heaven and Earth, the sea, wild animals, etc. He knows and understands our lives better than anyone. He is The Most Powerful Person in the Universe. He assumed that Power by Himself and didn’t need us to vote for Him. He has remained Faithful from generations to generations. His tenure of office doesn’t expire and He has got the whole world in His hands. These are some few attributes of our Daddy who neither sleep nor slumber.

What is so fascinating about our Daddy is that He comes down to our level to communicate with us.  Yes, He does that everyday. In describing His Superiority, He said “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9, KJV). The good news for us is that despite this gap, he says to us daily “Come now, and let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18, KJV).

One benefit you enjoy in your walk with Daddy is the promise He made in Psalm 32:8 “I will guide you along the BEST pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you” (emphasis added). Three things can be seen in this promise:

  1. He will guide you (Guidance)
  2. He will advise you (Counselor)
  3. He will watch over you (Protector)

When you have The Most Powerful Person (Who knows all things, sees all things, and can do all things) guiding you, advising you, and watching over you, All things will work together for your good and nothing shall be difficult for you.

Lenny Leblanc sang “Don’t have to walk a million miles to find You, Don’t have to sail around the world to see. ‘Cause every time I lift my heart to praise You. There You are right next to me…“. Truly, our Daddy is closer.

How can one have this Fellowship?

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8, NKJV)

It is easy to have access to these benefits once you have Jesus as your Saviour. Remember that Jesus is the Only Way to our Father.

You can’t live in Sin and still profess Him as your Daddy.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” (1 John 3:9, KJV).

So let go of anything that stands between you and Jesus. It could be a negative habit; a common lie, hatred, jealousy, sexual immorality, fornication, adultery, idolatry, drunkenness, drugs, etc. Regardless of how small or big your circumstance is, no sin and/or mistake is too big for Calvary.

Jesus said in Revelation 3:20 that “Look! I have been standing at the door, and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.” (TLB)

Once you have Jesus Christ (as your High Priest), you gain access to our Daddy’s throne of grace. There you will receive his mercy, and you will find grace to help you when we need it most, according to the scriptures.

I have tasted and known how wonderful it is to have sweet fellowship with Daddy, whereby He tells me what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. He saved me from plots of the enemy and provided every need. When I open my mouth to make request in the Name of Jesus, He answers me. He doesn’t disappoint and always cause His children to triumph in their every day lives.

Come, let us enjoy this fellowship together. But if you are in Christ, Keep enjoying your life in Him. Jesus is coming

Building Strong Relationship to Receive His Best

give thanksI am the LORD, the God of all the people of the world. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27, NLT)

Joseph M Scriven’s “What a friend we have in Jesus” is one of the inspiring and educative hymns in the body of Christ. It talks about our relationship with Jesus Christ and the privilege we have to take our needs, burdens, trials and temptations, etc to Him. In stanza one, he said

Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!

God desires to have deep, rich and satisfying relationship with us because it is basic requisite or fundamental to receiving supernatural breakthrough in whatever we do. The secret is that the more we talk to, or interact, with him, the more we know him. And the more we know him, the more we do things that please him (like living holy lives and walking by Faith). In other words, we walk/live by believing that He is more than able to do what He promises during our talk or interaction with him.

20121127-085653.jpgWe talk to God through prayer. Prayer is a major ingredient to growing our relationship with God. As we talk to Him, bringing everything (including our major and minor decisions) to him, He guides with His word as to what steps to take to get successful results. But often, we ignore this privilege. We prefer to talk to our neighbours, pastors, friends, family, etc to find out what they think about our situations and the result is that we become more confused with the answers or suggestions they provide because they don’t know us more than ourselves. The only person who knows us more than ourselves is God. The scripture says that “Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in Your book and planned before a single one of them began” (Psalm 139:16, HCSB)

In the New Testament, Jesus added that the very hairs on our heads are numbered. In effect, it is unwise to talk to man (people) about your problems, difficulties, etc when it is evident that they don’t know you more and can’t offer any better solution(s) than your Creator.

Give a thought about the following and see how you can connect them:

  • I am the LORD, the God of all the people of the world. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27, NLT) emphasis added
  • Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7, NLT) emphasis added
  • “Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!” emphasis added

    Peace Rock - John 16:33

  • Is anything too hard for me?

The common answer is No because we believe God, the Creator of the Universe, is Omnipotent God. He can do all things and doesn’t need anyone’s permission to act. He is who He says He is, and What He says He is. Nobody can challenge His supremacy.

  • Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

If you believe, like I do, that nothing is too hard for Him, then you don’t have to worry about anything. Instead of worrying, Pray. You choose prayer over worrying because you believe that as you talk to God about your needs, He will do it. God would never give you a cheque ( or a promissory note) that would be dishonoured because of insufficient funds. In other words, He would never promise what He doesn’t have or more than what He has. His resources are insatiable to meet your satiable needs. Therefore, if His Word tells you not to worry about anything but Pray about everything, it means that He is able supply or meet every need you have.

In Mark 11:24, Jesus said “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (KJV). Notice Jesus didn’t put restriction on what you should pray for, and I believe this is a great privilege for us in the body of Christ.

  • “…All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!

The question now is why do we worry and carry loads of burdens, hopping from one door to another seeking for help?

The answer is that we often miss the basic part; we pay little or no attention to our relationship with God. It is easier for us to get on social media (whatsapp, facebook, twitter, etc) to talk to friends throughout the day than to talk to God. We get time for social events but struggle to get time for Church activities. We can read novels in days but find it difficult to spend 30 minutes studying His Word. We can talk on phone for hours but struggle to pray to God for 30 minutes. We spend quite substantial amount in changing our wardrobes in a year but spend less in buying materials that will help our Spirit to grow and draw us closer to God. Your relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, should come first in whatever you do. Spend your resources (including time and money) in building your relationship with God.

When your relationship with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, is solid, you will talk to him about everything because you Trust Him. As you continue doing that, the Scripture says that “your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3, NLT)

You have borne your pains, disappointment, failures, hurting, sickness, sins, mistakes, and fears among other for so long. It is time to talk to the Lord. All things are possible with Him and He is faithful. You must tell Jesus today
