images Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

I went with my dad to get some groceries from Tesco some years ago. The weight was so heavy that I had to use all my energy to carry them to the bus stop. As we got on the bus, my thoughts were about how I was going to carry those giants home. I was tired, and was really worried. But something unexpected happened; just before the bus stopped, my father said to me “Son you don’t have carry this stuff again. I will do it.” Hush! That was a sweet relief. If I had known that my father would be carrying them for me, I wouldn’t have wasted time and energy worrying and thinking about strategies I was going to use. I gave them to him and enjoyed walking with him home. Think about this for a moment; do you think it was wise decision that I gave them to him?

Friend, our Heavenly Father cares about us. He knows our future like we knew our past. One thing He doesn’t want us to do is to worry about things we can’t do, and those we can. Jesus said “don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” God knows you need Job. He knows you need a child. He understands everything you are going through. He knows that you need increase in everything you do. He knows what will happen in your life tomorrow, next week, next month, and even next year. Why do you worry about the little things you can’t fix with your strength? Give all your worries and care to God, for he cares about you. Jesus said it is unbelievers who allow thoughts about their future, job, accommodation, food, marriage, child bearing, etc dominate their thoughts.

Carrying your worries, stress, problems, and daily struggles by yourself shows that you have not trusted God fully with your life. When you trust God, you give all your worries and cares to him. When you trust God, you wake in the morning and say Father I don’t know how this can be but I am giving everything to you. Philippians 4:6-7 says “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” That is how you give all your worries and cares to God.

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. (Psalm 55:22 NLT)

When you choose not to give all your worries and cares to God, that is when depression, fear, high blood pressure, and all sort of sicknesses come in. this is because as you think about how to get things done your way, Satan comes in to steal your joy, happiness, and strength.  God wants you to place all your burdens on him, and he will take care of you. As we have started this year, it is my prayer that we give all our worries and cares to the Lord. He cares for us, and He will take care of us. He will not permit us to slip and fall. He is a covenant keeping God.

I will close with this:

Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3 New Living Translation (NLT)

  5. I appreciated the grocery allegory Uplifting Christ and also the message it was very good with much Truth, I was blessed greatly in meditating on it as my Devotion this morning, Thank you.

God does indeed give us His Peace and inner Joy in the trials and worries of life and also protects our souls. He strengthens us to endure whatever life brings to us and He never leaves us alone as we go through the Storms of life (Isaiah 43:1-3) He is always with us as He was with Paul and the early Christians and is with Christians now who are being imprisoned, tortured and killed for believing in Jesus Christ.

As you said Uplifting Christ, we do need to Trust our Abba Father and go to Him and as we pray according to His will, He hears us and answers even as we stand up for His Truth and so are persecuted, ignored , hated and even Martyred, He empowers us and thankfully No Temptation either will be greater than we can bear, He will keep us strong till the end until we are perfected in Love, He is our Light in the darkness….. How good is that!

    1. Awesome!
isn’t it wonderful to know the the Creator of this universe is with us?

When we go through deep water, He is with us. When we go through rivers of difficulties, He is with us. When we walk through fire of oppression, He promised we will not be burned up; the flames will not consume us.

God indeed is taking Care of us.

David, the three hebrews, Daniel, Mordecai, Moses, Paul, etc were never left alone. God protected them against their enemies.

He took care of His children through the wilderness. The scripture says for forty years He sustained his children in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell. Neh 9:21.

If God could cater for the multitude for forty years and they lacked nothing, then am not a problem for Him at all. He is bigger than anything I could ever imagine.

      He is our Great Provider.

When I understood this, the burden of worry and anxiety was taken away. I no longer worry as I know God has enough to cater for my need. He is with me in all situations.

God bless you Anne once again. You really inspire me. God bless you

      1. Thank you Uplifting Christ, you bless me too, I appreciate your focus but I hope it was OK to Reblog your message, it was so uplifting.

I never had much in the way of material things in my early life but I always had enough, then I was greatly blessed in an unexpected way , but at the time did not realize it was God’s provision, I no longer had to worry about food and clothes or a place to live anymore.

But later I started worrying about my budget and how I was going to manage but God showed me I was not Trusting Him (see link below) now I never worry, I always have enough, sure Satan tries to cause alarm but God always provides. I never ask Him for material things because I’m never in need, but I Thank Him, He provides what is important and I also always have enough to help those who he leads me to, who have material needs or need His reassurance in a practical way.

  7. Thank you Uplifting Christ for the thoughtful article on worrying and it is timely as a proportion of our time , we do spend in some way or another ; worrying. But as you quoted from Phil 4 , it says in my bible v. 8 ” Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right , think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable …. ” I quess if we follow those thoughts , doesn’t give us a lot of time to worry ?

    Thanks

    1. That is very true Ron. When we follow those thoughts, or fix our thoughts on what is true, honorable…, there will be no place for worrying.

God bless you for your thought. I do appreciate.

  8. I was looking for a devotion to read to our new women’s group, Women of Faith and Friendship. I Googled “God wants to take care of you” and your blog post popped up. I will read this to our group as our devotional. The focus lately is that we are so busy serving others, family, church, friends, etc that we don’t take time to allow God to take of us. Simply to rest through Christ to give us a true moments of Peace.

    God keep you always,
