Understanding God’s Purpose in Your Challenges

Introduction

I hope that I can put this in fewer words; let’s see how far I can go. Okay, so it goes like this; people often wonder why God permits certain situations or circumstances to come their way. My answer is simple: You have the answer(s). God has equipped you with every tool you need for victory.

You Stand in for God

You are God’s representative on earth. Millions of people are caught up in the enemy’s web and are scrambling for answers. They do not know what to do. To help them, sometimes God allows the same or a similar situation to come your way.
God knows that you can solve it because you stay connected to Him. He knows you will do what He tells you to do with the tools he already placed in you.
The main purpose is that the steps to your victory will become a template for others to follow. This is among the reasons I would encourage you to give testimony about the Lord’s goodness.

The scripture says that ‘Because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted, He is able to help and provide immediate assistance to those who are being tempted and exposed to suffering.’ (Hebrews 2:18, AMP)

Reflection

  • Think about a challenge you faced. Consider how this challenge empowered you.
  • Reflect on how it enabled you to help those caught up in a similar situation.

Conclusion

Whatever challenge or temptation the enemy throws at you this year, know that God will allow it for a purpose. You’re equipped to solve it. After you come out, know that other people are waiting to hear how you did it. Sing of the Lord’s Goodness.

3 Facts about Temptation

But remember this—the wrong desires that come into your life aren’t anything new and different. Many others have faced exactly the same problems before you. And no temptation is irresistible. You can trust God to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it, for he has promised this and will do what he says. He will show you how to escape temptation’s power so that you can bear up patiently against it.

(1 Corinthians 10:13, TLB)

As long as you live in this body, you are going to be dragged away by your own lust and enticed. Here are 3 Facts about temptations you face:

  • Many others faced exactly the same problems before” you:
    • Thus if you find yourself struggling with intense sexual and/or other desires, know that someone (people before you) went through same and won. That’s why it’s important to talk to your confidants about areas of weakness so that they can support you in prayer.
  • No Temptation is Irresistible:
    • It’s possible to resist the attraction and Say No to pressure from unholy desires. This truth can help you triumph over Satan’s strategies geared toward swaying you from God’s way.
  • God will Help you:
    • Because you live in the Flesh, it’s impossible to say that you won’t be tempted.
    • However, you can trust God to help you out.
    • God has many ways of helping you to overcome temptation. For instance as you are about yielding to the temptation, your phone rings. You checked and it’s someone you least expected to call you that time.
    • Often there is kinda little distraction that pop up to cause you to pause for a while. At that time, you will hear thoughts urging you to stop.

Alright! as you enjoy your day, know that Satan will tempt you. But that temptation isn’t going to be anything new from the norm. Secondly, recognize that you have power to resist the pressure. Finally Be sensitive to God’s exit doors of escape as He is always available to provide supports to help you win.

It’s often the case that evidence(s) on the ground would appear that the enemy is winning But in the end Victory belongs to Jesus. If you are in Jesus, then your Victory over any situation is assured. Stop looking at the evidences (or your storms) and gaze upon Jesus.

Peace Rock - John 16:33
Even in the midst of a stormy sea of trouble, we can have peace in Jesus, a peace as solid as a rock. But if we give in to worry and fear, we will be in danger of sinking. August 5, 2007

Begin this week with this Confidence that in Christ you are more than conqueror. Amen
