Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6 NLT)
Let us imagine you have just received a letter and a cheque from the White House, and in that letter the President tells you “Don’t worry about anything; instead talk to me about everything. Tell me what you need and you would have it”.
How will this letter shape your thought life?
Are you going to continue worrying about things you need in your life?
How will you embrace this news?
I believe you are going to renew your mind, and start preparing your field to receive all the things you need from the White House. I can say that each time you have a need, you wouldn’t hesitate to call the President.
Let us consider the bigger picture now:
Your Father in Heaven is the Creator of the universe. The Scripture says “The earth is the L ord ’s, and everything in it.” (Psalms 24:1 NLT). He owns everything so He doesn’t want you to worry about the little things you need. Jesus said “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.” Notice He used your Heavenly Father, not their Heavenly Father. He concluded by asking you this question; “aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”(Matthew 6:26 NLT).
Friend, God wants to hear from you. He wants you pray about everything, tell Him all you need and thank Him for all He has done.
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7, 8 NLT)
Today is a new day and I want to encourage you to quit worrying and begin talking to God about everything. Everything means Everything; the big ones and the small ones, the funny ones and the bitter ones, etc. God wants to hear from you, He wants to have relationship with you.
One important thing I want you to know is that God isn’t only concerned about your needs…He wants to be part of your life. However, we often ignore this great privilege.
Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself
The Word of God says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” When He promised Israel He would take them to Canaan, he didn’t ditch them halfway. He provided manna from Heaven, and gave them water on the desert. The same God has this for us today; “I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.” “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Put your trust in Him.
Do not worry, saying “what shall I eat?” Or “what shall I drink?” Or “what shall I wear?” These are the three most important things we need on earth: The food we eat. The water we drink. And the clothes we put on. Do not worry about them. The good news is before the Sun rise in the morning, the Lord, your Father, had made provisions for them already. If He did not withhold His manna from their (Israel) mouths, and He gave them water for their thirst, He will not forget about you. For forty years, He sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen. Do you know their population? They were about two million (2,000,000). Beloved, He has plans for us. Be encouraged that before the Sun rise in the east, or sets in the west, the Almighty God had already made provisions for you. That is before you wake up in the morning, all you would need for the day is ready, or before you get to bed, you would have had all you needed for the day. If God can’t provide for you in any day, do you think He would give you life to live in that day? When you are able to lift yourself up in the morning, it is a sign that He can sustain you throughout the day.
He fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, and the left over were twelve baskets full. Do not worry because God thinks about you. You are His masterpiece. Now look at the lilies of the field. The Lord clothes them. Jesus added “even Solomon in all his splendour was not dressed like one of these.”Matthew 6:29. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feed them. I may not know what you are going through today but I came to encourage you that your Father in heaven cares for you. He has got plans for you. He thinks about you daily, and He wants you to quit worrying. He wants you call upon Him.
Do you know why He wants you to do that?
Calling upon Him means: that you are seeing Him as a Supreme Being. That He is bigger that your circumstances. That He can do exceedingly, abundantly above what you expect from Him. That He is your Source. The children of God, on the wilderness, saw Him as their Provider. He is Jehovah Jireh, your Provider.Do not worry.
Everything shows you are discouraged, and wants to give up in that situation. Remember when He promised Abraham and Sarah, it took 25 years before it came to pass. Yet Abraham did not stagger in his Faith. Friends, Faith works with Patience. Do not bow your head again in tears because He knows how and what He is going to use to deliver you from that condition
The Lord allowed me to go through so many situations that I almost start to think help could come from nowhere. I wept and soaked my pillows nearly every night with tears. People did not know what I was going through. During those times, God wanted me to see Him as my source. It took time so you can imagine how I suffered. I read Matthew 6:25-34, and Luke 12:22-34 so many times. Each time in tears but I got to know that God wasn’t going to provide for me because of the tears on my face. He was expecting to exercise my Faith, to put into practice the Word I have read in Matthew 6:25-34. Today, I can testify that I live a worry-free life. When I get up in the morning, I give thanks for His abundant provisions for the day; for myself, my family, etc. He (God) asks me this question every morning “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
There is no sense in worrying about what you can’t do, rather trust it in Someone Who has Power to do it in less than a second. Be wise and live worry-free life.
