Don’t be Afraid

On September 19th, 2013 we heard and watched how innocent people were killed both in Kenya and in Pakistan. It happened in Nigeria, US, UK, and other places in the past.  If we are not careful, we will end up living in fear instead of Faith. Let us not forget that it is a sign that the Lord’s coming is closer now than ever.

What does God promise?

He will cover you with his feather. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection. Don’t be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. (Psalm 91:4-7, NLT)

God has ordered his angels to protect you wherever you go. He is watching over you. The scripture says he never sleeps nor slumbers. In other words, his eyes are on you 24/7. Don’t let your heart be troubled when you hear or see these things happening because you are different. You are not alone. God is on your side. God has built a hedge of protection around you, your family, and everything you have.

Be encouraged that God is watching over you. Know that though people are dying around you, these evil will not touch you. His angels are protecting you everywhere you go. And 1 John 5:18 says Jesus holds you securely and evil one cannot touch you.

Everything is under your feet

You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet Psalm 8:6 AMP

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the second half of 2013. I believe everything God has said about your life this year will come to pass in Jesus’ Name. It’s a new month and a new beginning. As a result, l want to encourage you to forget about what is behind and press forward to what lies ahead.

God is with you

I want us to talk about Psalm 8:6 today. It is among the important topics in the body of Christ but believers don’t pay much attention to that. It’s no surprise that some people run or scream at the sight of mouse or cockroach. We run when we see dogs, not to talk about snakes, or other wild beasts. We cry when we face little challenges or face opposition. We blame God sometimes for what happen(s) to us and some have wandered away from the faith because they felt God could have done something about their situations which He didn’t. Man no longer has dominion over some of the works of God’s hands because of fear and doubt. You may not believe this but last three years I ran away from some dogs. They were unfriendly… The question I asked myself was “why did I run away from mere dogs, animals God has given me dominion over?”

For You have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man’s] control. (Hebrews 2:8, AMP)

God has put everything under your feet. The scripture says He left nothing outside your control. This means that your enemies are under your feet. You have power to control every situation that you will encounter. You have dominion over all sicknesses and diseases. You have power over “all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.” (Psalm 8:7,8). Everything is under your feet in Jesus’ Name.

Friend God created you in His image, in His likeness, so that you may rule over everything.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26, NIV)

As we start the second half of the year, I pray you exercise your authority as man over everything. Know that God didn’t create you to be average. He created you to do extraordinary things on earth. Your limitations are not real so press forward.

All things are under your feet.

AFFLICTIONS OF THE RIGHTEOUS

Schmitt_Look_Up_HiResThe righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; (Psalm 34:19 NIV)

Most people wonder why God sometimes allow or permit His children to face trouble? I used to ask this same question when I was a child but I found the answer in John 9. I thank God I did at the early stage of my life.

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. (John 9:1-3 NIV)

God sometimes allow or permit trouble to come so that His children would know He is more than able to deliver. In other words, He wants our lives to be testimonies to other people, including unbelievers. For example God allowed the three Hebrews to be thrown into the burning furnace so that Nebuchadnezzar would know or see His wondrous Power to deliver His children from any situation.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. (James 1:2 NLT)

Troubles are opportunity for great joy. Consider Joseph, He came from prison to a much higher position in Egypt. Think about Mordecai, He was honoured while his enemy was hanged on his own gallows. Job received more than what he lost in times of trouble. The three Hebrews and Daniel saw the mighty power of God to deliver His children. Peter was sent to prison but these were his words when he was delivered; Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.” (Acts 12:11 NIV). And I know that your great joy is just ahead of you.

In Psalm 34:19, the psalmist said although the righteous man or woman may have many trouble, the Lord is more than able to deliver him or her from them all. Notice he did say God will deliver him from some. He used them all. Therefore no matter what you are going through today, God will deliver you from them all. He allowed those troubles so that when He delivers you, those people who saw you in those situations would see His mighty Power and give Him glory. Praise the Lord!
