Shush! Are You Quiet Enough?

Shush! The Spirit wants to speak but are you quiet enough to listen?

Our world is filled with noise. O yeah! I mean Loud Noise from Cable news, Entertainment Channels, and Social Media. The noise from Social Media is louder than anything we could ever imagine. The days when we turn off TVs or Radios to have quiet environment are long gone and we live in era where a peep and/or vibration from your phone is door bell to welcoming many people for a minute’s visit (In 1 minute, you can chat 10 folks). In effect, creating time for oneself is (somehow) difficult lately.

Yet the Still Small Voice needs quiet environment to talk to you. He needs a period where you put your phone aside, remove yourself from the crowd, sit at quiet place, and just be silent with quiet mind.
It’s one thing keeping mouth shut but mind is wandering, and another thing keeping mouth shut and mind quiet. This would create an atmosphere of reverence and He wouldn’t disappoint you on that appointment.

Jesus’ Example:

But the news about Him was spreading farther, and large crowds kept gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their illnesses. But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray [in seclusion].

(Luke 5:15-16, AMP)

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left [the house], and went out to a secluded place, and was praying there.

(Mark 1:35, AMP)
  • Two things to observe in above scriptures:
    1. Jesus would often remove himself from the crowd in order to engage The Father
    2. Jesus would do same in the morning.

What can be learnt from Jesus’ Example:

  • Two things can be learnt from the Lord Jesus Christ.
    1. Regardless of how tight your schedule is, you can create time to engage with the Holy Spirit: That is while planning your day, you chip in slot for the Holy Spirit where you would observe necessary protocol for Him. It’s an act of respect. Jesus could have just be quiet in the midst of the crowd and pray yet He withdrew.
    2. Before you Start your day, you give Him some time: You don’t have to leave your room but you can designate section of the room for your quiet time. This is for your benefit because He can reveal what’s ahead of you in the day and how best you can handle them.

During the above periods, keep your phone at a distant. However if you use digital bible, you can turn off your internet to avoid distractions. I put mine on airplane mode at least i can be sure no call would come through. It’s appointment with divinity and it ought to be done well.

Friend, the world will never be a quiet place but you can shush and be quiet enough to hear God’s Powerful Spirit speaks to you. SHUSH!

3 Things to do in the Tunnel

It is said that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. This statement suggests that if you can proceed to the end of the tunnel, you will see Light. What is missing from the statement is the duration or length of time one has to stay or navigate through the tunnel.

How long do you have to remain in the dark?

Dark moments could be season of tumultuous, where you seem to be overwhelmed at every turn. It could also be foggy season where visibility into your future isn’t clear. Or crisis seasons.

Dark moments could come natural(ly) or artificial(ly). That is when they just happen…like ailment, pandemic, etc or when people (your enemies) conspire to mess you up. The truth is that you will experience some time in the tunnel, not once but many.

However, the length of time you spend in the dark depends on your attitude or how you react towards the situation. If you choose to be negative, worry, and complain, you prolong your days. On the other hand, if you choose to be prayerful, joyous, hopeful, give thanks and praise the Lord, sudden light appears.

I want to focus more on the latter because we are not exempted from troubles. They will come. In other words, if you are not in some form of trouble, then you are probably approaching one, or you just got out of one.

In Psalm 50:15 (NET) the scripture says “Pray to me when you are in trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me” emphasis added. Notice when, not if. That means the day of trouble will not elude you.

Here is the point;
When you find yourself in the tunnel (trouble), you can do 3 things to get to SEE Light sooner: PRAY, PRAISE, and THANKSGIVING.

  1. PRAY
    • The bible says that the earnest prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available (James 5:16). This was seen in Acts 12 when the church prayed for Peter. Peter was in the tunnel with no hope of seeing the Light. But when the Church prayed, God answered and an angel was sent to deliver him. Prayer works.
  2. PRAISE
    • Praising God in the midst of trouble isn’t something you would want to do because it’s easy blame God for the problem in the first place. But when we Praise like Paul and Silas did (Acts 16), every chain will break and iron gate opened. There is something extraordinary about praise; it absorbs you into the supernatural and your heart is suddenly filled with joy. Most importantly, it triggers the Glory of God to descend. Paul and Silas had an option to blame God for being punished doing God’s work but they prayed and sang hymns…praising God.
  3. THANKSGIVING
    • Giving thanks is an attitude of gratitude. That’s thanking God for what He did in the past, what He has done in the present, and what He would do in the Future. As you do this cheerfully, God will show forth mightily.

In summary, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Inasmuch as you don’t know how long you would stay in the tunnel, the good news is that you can shorten the duration of your stay through Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving. It’s sad that some people don’t live long to see the light. But in your case, there will be SUDDEN Light in the Dark as you Pray, Praise, and Give Thanks. Amen

Covid-19: Be Strong and PRAY

Hello Everyone,

Jesus Christ is alive forever and ever (Rev 1:18). Wherever you may find yourself today, I pray that God Be With You. This season has been a difficult one for families, especially those who have lost loved ones through this virus and those whose friends and/or family are battling with infection. To such families, I urge you to remember them in your prayers.

If you turn on the News today, you would hear about how your country is affected, and maybe a surge in infection. We used to see this in movies but not anymore; it’s real. Inasmuch as the news is real and there is no exaggeration in the number of deaths, the hidden component is FEAR.

However, there is HOPE for a person who has Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior. THINK OF THIS: If Jesus Christ were on earth NOW, He would have healed viral infections among other diseases. But He is not here. We are.
And frankly, it’s suicidal to be cowered because we have POWER to EFFECT CHANGE through prayer. James 5:16 says “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.

(John 14:12, NLT)

You know that the worst time to be afraid is on the Battle Field so I would (again) urge you not to be afraid. God saved you in the past and He would do same NOW, and in the FUTURE. Be Strong and PRAY.

I can Tell you that there is Release of Divine Covering (Protection) over God’s children; those who are praying and trusting in Him. It’s okay to follow rules set by officials like social distancing, restricting travels, hand wash, etc. But as this enemy is invincible, You need invincible Force to Protect you. That’s why Your Faith in Jesus Christ is a wise choice.

Some Few Facts:
In the physical, you are told to distant yourself but in the Spirit, God is even CLOSER. You are told to keep washing your hands yet in Spirit, the BLOOD OF JESUS has sealed your LIFE from all sicknesses and diseases. God is never restricted to travel to your home.

Friend you are part of the victorious family in Christ Jesus. Cheer up because Jesus is Alive.
