DO NOT JUDGE!

judgeDon’t pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole travelling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor. Matthew 7:1-5 MSG.

All of us have strengths, and we all have weaknesses. You are strong in an area where your neighbor is weak. And you neighbor may be strong in an area where you are weak. None of us is perfect, so don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Romans 2:1-3

It is easy to think “I wouldn’t do that. How could a Pastor, Teacher, President, or Christian do this or say that?” But the truth is you are strong in those areas because of the Grace of God. I am not a drug addict because the grace of God, I am not a gossiper, drunkard, womanizer, thief, etc because of the Grace of God. I believe people do what they do for reason(s) we don’t know therefore let us take time to understand their situations and pray for them. Take time to understand your friends’ situation before you pass a comment. Don’t talk behind their back

Think about this for a moment; if God should expose everything you do behind closed doors to the rest of the world, could you imagine what people would say about you?

Friend, don’t join unbeliever who mock at believers who fall into temptations. don’t judge them when their secret sins come to light. Don’t be quick to judge when you hear your brother or sister’s weakness. Instead, show some love. Let them know how you love them, and pray for them.

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 niv84.

If we are critical rather than compassionate, we will also receive criticism. You will receive what you give to others in full amount.

God is the Judge!

HE HAS PAID THE PRICE

upliftingChristI have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free. Isaiah 44:22 NLT

Beloved, I am troubled as I write this piece because some of us have slipped back into our old ways of living to satisfy our own desires. The truth is there is no pleasure in sin considering the eternal consequence that lies ahead yet some of us still find themselves committing the same old sins over, and over. I have not come to condemn you but to reassure you of God’s love. He said in Isaiah that “I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free”.

The price He paid was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

God is waiting for you to return to Him. He has stretched his arms to welcome you. He is not looking at what you have done in the secret; neither is he focusing on your weakness(es). He knows how you see yourself behind closed doors. Stop condemning yourself and return to the Lord as He is saying today that “Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.” Notice he did not say “I will pay the price, or I may pay the price” rather, He said “I have paid the price to set you free.” He has already done it.

What are you waiting for my brother/sister, father/mother, son/daughter?

Jesus said “many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’.” Matthew 7:22-23

It is not what you do in Jesus’ Name that matters. It is how you live each day of your life for him. Are you living the Jesus’ LIFE?

If God could turn His face away from His own Son on the cross because of our sins, then I believe it would not be difficult for Him to cast us into the lake of fire if we continue pretending to be holy while we are not. I came with this news because some of us are pretending to be who they are not. They preach but fail to practice what they preach. They sing but they do not live the life of the song they sing. They write to encourage people but they are depressed. They write to tell people to repent but they are living in their old ways. They quote the Word but they do not practice the Word. Jesus came as a lamb but He is coming as a Judge.

The End of all things is near. And for that matter, God wants you to return to Him. Acknowledge your weakness(s), acknowledge your sins, confess them, ask for forgiveness, and start living the new life in Christ Jesus. God has paid the price.

God bless you!

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

20130110-070323.jpg

let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NIV84)

God is light; in him there is no darkness. 1 John 1:5. Jesus said in John 10:30 that “I and the Father are one”. This means that as God is light, Jesus is light. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 KJV).

“He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. You received the light of life the day you chose to follow Jesus. You are the light of the World and God wants you to shine in the dark places of the world.

Light and darkness have nothing in common. Wherever there is light, darkness flees. In other words, we are different from the people of the world. Our words and actions must different from those in the world. We shine by living the life of Jesus Christ. That is by obeying and doing the Word of God. People should be able to tell who we are by our conducts. “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; ” (Philippians 2:15 KJV)

Would Jesus do what I am about to do? Is a question I believe every follower of our Lord Jesus should ask himself or herself before taking any action or decision. When your answer is No, I would advise you stop.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16 KJV)

God bless you!
