Find a Resting Place for Your Soul

robe2015 has been a hectic year for Europe as it struggles to deal with the migrants crisis. People from war-torn countries make their journey by sea, risking everything to seek refuge in Europe. They believe that they will find rest in Europe. One survivor who was interviewed said “I will never give up struggling to enter because I just can’t go back. There is nothing good back there.”

According to Eurostat, the number of people seeking asylum from non-EU countries in the EU-28 during the second quarter of 2015 reached 213,200. Information I have from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) website indicates that at least 1.66 million people submitted applications for asylum in 2014. This figure is the highest level ever recorded and I can project that a new record will be set this year.

The World is coming to an end and these events should prompt us that very soon Jesus will come for His saints. A lot of time, we feel that we have got enough time to prepare for Christ’ second coming but we forget that death, which is an enemy of God, knocks at people’s door everyday. The figures presented shows people who want to find resting place for the body, and I have been thinking about the fact that people pay no or little attention to life after death. We struggle to keep the body safe yet this life is but for a moment. It fades away like the morning fog.

In James 4:14, the scripture says that “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.“

Have you found a Resting place for your soul?

Do you know where you would spend eternity should God calls you today?

The good news is that we do not have to cross the Mediterranean in order to find rest. We do not need to hustle in order to file application to seek asylum for our souls as Jesus Christ, The Only Son of God, has made it simpler for mankind. John 3:16 (AMP) says that “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him[as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life” 

Jesus said that in John 14:6 that “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.“

Jesus is the Only Way through which you can find a resting place for your soul. People are fleeing war-torn areas to save their lives. Others are leaving poverty-stricken countries in search for a better life.  The question now is what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

And since this world is reserved for fire, wouldn’t it be wise on our part to seek refuge while there is life? Wouldn’t it be wise decision to shun the pleasures of this world and consecrate our lives for Jesus? Wouldn’t it be wise decision to sound the trumpet loud to warn people of the wrath of God that would be poured on mankind? Today is the day we have, tomorrow might be too late.

If you don’t know Jesus, accept Him now as your Savior while there is life. He is the Only Way to God and the real Truth and the real Life. You cannot be saved except through Him. Say this prayer “My Father in Heaven, I confess that Jesus is Lord and I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.” Congratulation! If you are a believer and you are losing your footing, remember that a half-done job deserves no pay therefore serve the Lord right so that you will receive your crown. Be encouraged to deny the pleasure to gain the treasure. Confess your sins to God. He understands your weakness and He is ready to forgive you because of Jesus Christ. It will be a great joy to see you in Heaven

ARE YOU EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM?

And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27, 28 NLT)

My question this morning is ARE YOU EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM?

We live in a corrupt society where it is difficult to distinguish between the good and the bad. People justify the wrong things they do with the scriptures. They forget that the life they live is a gift of trust. The Owner is coming soon and each person will be held accountable for what he/she does with his/her life. Wake up if you are sleeping and be prepared to meet The Lord. He is coming at an hour you would least expect. Keep watching.

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. (2 Corinthians 5:10 NLT) As a result, let us not conform ourselves to the customs of this world. Let us not live like the rest of the world. Others may sin but we cannot. Others may gossip but we cannot. Others may be lay for themselves treasures on this world but we cannot. Because Heaven is our Home. Jesus is preparing a place for you and I. I believe He will be disappointed if after He has prepared a place for us, then He comes to see us unprepared. Let us strip off everything that will prevent us from spending eternity with the Lord. In Hebrews 12, the apostle said “therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 NLT) Jesus is coming soon!

God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. (Ecclesiastes 12:14 NLT)

Friend Jesus is coming soon. He said “The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.
You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” (Luke 12:37, 38, 40 NLT)

Are you eagerly waiting for Him?

Today is the day you have, Tomorrow may be too late

When I heard about the plane crash last Saturday in Ghana, I asked myself the question that most Christians don’t know the answer today. WHERE WOULD THEY SPEND ETERNITY? I was thinking and praying after church when I heard another plane crash in Lagos, Nigeria where over 140 people who told their families “I would be back” never came back. Some people believe God could have done something since He knows the end from the beginning. Well! He is the owner of our lives, besides it is appointed for a man to die once. After that, judgment. Death awaits most of us. The truth is we don’t know how we are going to die and When. Only God knows. The HOW and WHEN, no one knows.

I cried yesterday for the Lost souls as I watched the news. BBC interviewed one top official and all he could say was “everything is under control”. People are dying and all leaders could say is everything is under control. I have been following what is happening in Syria. People are dying because of one person’s crave for power. World leaders don’t have answers to our questions anymore. We are all naked but God protects His own.

You don’t how and when you are going to die. If you had been among those who passed away yesterday, where would you have been now? Jesus may tarry but you can die at anytime. Search your life today. Are there areas you need to change? Remember God wants all to repent. Today is the day you have, Tomorrow may be too late. Even Now is the hour you have. The next hour, or minute may be too late. Life on earth is too short. Take advantage of the Grace NOW!

Pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Come into my heart. I don’t want to spent eternity in the lake of fire, where there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I choose to live for You today. Direct my path, and guard me on the Narrow way to eternal glory. You died for me so help me to live for You, and God’s Kingdom. I thank you for saving me today, and for making what was wrong right. I bless Your Holy Name, and I know you are ONE with The Father.
