The Poor Need You Now

Giving help to the poor is like loaning money to the Lord. He will pay you back for your kindness.

(Proverbs 19:17, ERV)

Do you know that your kindness and support (today) can be an answer to someone’s prayer request? I can tell you that many people are praying behind closed doors, asking God to make a way for them and their kids. Some friends around you and/or your neighbors may feel shy to ask for support but you can go ahead and ask them if there is any way you could be of help. This is the time to reach out to those in need.

Go to your “storehouse” and give some of what you have.

Sometimes you can be proactive in your giving, where you don’t wait for people to beg before you act. To the receiver, it becomes miracle and the Glory goes to God.

As you become a blessing in people’s life, according to Proverbs 19:17, your giving isn’t wasted. But it’s a loan to the the Lord and He pays back. In other words, When avail yourself to become instrument through which God reaches out to the needy, He pays you back handsomely.

Friend reach out today and become blessing in people’s lives. God bless you

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

(Luke 6:38, NLT)

Thought for the Day: January 29, 2020

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

(1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT)

Keep up with your efforts toward God’s work because every little thing you do is fetching more blessings for you in this life, and the one to come. God bless you richly for supporting His Kingdom business. Amen

Reward for your Sacrifices (1min read)

Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get?” (Matthew 19:27, NLT)

imagePeter, like many of us, asked Jesus “Master, what is our reward for investing everything we have in promoting Your business? (in my own words). Peter considered the opportunity cost for following Jesus and wanted to know how profitable his sacrifice would be in the end.  In the same way, we are (sometimes) tempted to rethink about some sacrifices we make in our churches or individually to support God’s work.

Jesus’ response to Peter’s question was remarkable. He replied “everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29, NLT).

Jesus told Peter (in my own words) “don’t worry Peter because whatever you have given up for my sake, you will receive a hundred times as much in return on earth, and you will also inherit eternal life.”

In the same way friends, whatever we are giving (or have given up) for Jesus’ sake, we will receive a hundred times as much on earth, and we will inherit eternal life. In other words, there are bountiful rewards for us in this life. I don’t know how He is going to do it but one thing is certain; God’s Word can be trusted.

Peter’s new job was to fish for people according to Luke 5. And he saw the first part of the promise come to pass on the day of Pentecost. The Scripture says those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day – about 3000 in all.

My question for you is;

What are you willing to sacrifice for Jesus?

Be encouraged that nothing is wasted and God will continually bless you for promoting His Kingdom business. Don’t give up!
