Be Thankful

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
    His faithful love endures forever.

(1 Chronicles 16:34, NLT)

Hello Everyone,

With the year gradually coming to an end, I want to bring to your attention that the Lord is Good. Count your blessings from 01 January to today and see what the Lord has done.

Maybe you cannot pinpoint a thing but permit me to tell you that having life today means that you have all things. That is with Life, you can undo, redo, do, and perfect.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!

I have not had it all yet but I am thankful. I have had some disappointments but I am thankful. I have been through some pains yet I am thankful. Every new day presented another opportunity for me to try again. And today, I look back and say Thank you Lord.

If you are reading this, take a deep breath and say with a cheerful heart that “Thank You Lord. You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.” God Bless You. Amen

3 Things to do in the Tunnel

It is said that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. This statement suggests that if you can proceed to the end of the tunnel, you will see Light. What is missing from the statement is the duration or length of time one has to stay or navigate through the tunnel.

How long do you have to remain in the dark?

Dark moments could be season of tumultuous, where you seem to be overwhelmed at every turn. It could also be foggy season where visibility into your future isn’t clear. Or crisis seasons.

Dark moments could come natural(ly) or artificial(ly). That is when they just happen…like ailment, pandemic, etc or when people (your enemies) conspire to mess you up. The truth is that you will experience some time in the tunnel, not once but many.

However, the length of time you spend in the dark depends on your attitude or how you react towards the situation. If you choose to be negative, worry, and complain, you prolong your days. On the other hand, if you choose to be prayerful, joyous, hopeful, give thanks and praise the Lord, sudden light appears.

I want to focus more on the latter because we are not exempted from troubles. They will come. In other words, if you are not in some form of trouble, then you are probably approaching one, or you just got out of one.

In Psalm 50:15 (NET) the scripture says “Pray to me when you are in trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me” emphasis added. Notice when, not if. That means the day of trouble will not elude you.

Here is the point;
When you find yourself in the tunnel (trouble), you can do 3 things to get to SEE Light sooner: PRAY, PRAISE, and THANKSGIVING.

  1. PRAY
    • The bible says that the earnest prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available (James 5:16). This was seen in Acts 12 when the church prayed for Peter. Peter was in the tunnel with no hope of seeing the Light. But when the Church prayed, God answered and an angel was sent to deliver him. Prayer works.
  2. PRAISE
    • Praising God in the midst of trouble isn’t something you would want to do because it’s easy blame God for the problem in the first place. But when we Praise like Paul and Silas did (Acts 16), every chain will break and iron gate opened. There is something extraordinary about praise; it absorbs you into the supernatural and your heart is suddenly filled with joy. Most importantly, it triggers the Glory of God to descend. Paul and Silas had an option to blame God for being punished doing God’s work but they prayed and sang hymns…praising God.
  3. THANKSGIVING
    • Giving thanks is an attitude of gratitude. That’s thanking God for what He did in the past, what He has done in the present, and what He would do in the Future. As you do this cheerfully, God will show forth mightily.

In summary, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Inasmuch as you don’t know how long you would stay in the tunnel, the good news is that you can shorten the duration of your stay through Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving. It’s sad that some people don’t live long to see the light. But in your case, there will be SUDDEN Light in the Dark as you Pray, Praise, and Give Thanks. Amen

3 WAYS to Simplify Life Today

There are dozens of things you can do today but I want to make some simple suggestions that can transform your world to live stress-free. Its easy to do and can help you achieve your broader goals this year.

  1. Do What You Can Right
    • John Wooden once said that “if you don’t have time to do it right, when will you get time to do it over?
    • Your To-Do List is achievable when properly planned and carefully worked through
    • Attempt to do it right the first time because it’s expensive having to redo. That doesn’t mean you would always get it right the first time but when you are conscious about doing things right the first time, you limit the risk of redo(s).
    • So whatever you can do today, make every effort to do it right.
    • You will save the resources of having to do it over.
  2. Leave the Rest to God:
    • You can’t do every thing because everyday presents new challenge(s) targeting your productivity. You could be stuck in traffic, people (including clients may disappoint you), distractions could come your way, etc
    • Regardless of how effective and efficient you want to be, someway somehow, something can sneak in to distort your plans for the day.
    • Instead of being negative and beating yourself up, choose to leave it/them to God.
    • If your target was beyond reach, leave it to God.
    • Don’t stress yourself because the Unseen Power on your side can turn things around for you
    • Philippians 4:6-7
  3. Be Thankful for Little Things:
    • Thank God for the little things you can do like sitting, eating, breathing, speaking, using the loo, walking, chatting, etc
    • I know, from personal interactions, how some people find it very difficult to breath, eat, or use the loo without support. Yet they are thankful.
    • Thank your family, colleagues, friends, strangers, etc for the little things they do for you. Think about this; Someone scanned through his/her phone contacts and chose to call/text you. A thought about you alone deserves “thank you”.
    • When you appreciate little things happening in your life, your heart will be glad. And guess what, it becomes application for bigger things.
    • Appreciation is an Application for something bigger, better, and greater.
    • Remain thankful through out the day.
    • At the end of the day, Thank God for everything that happened in the day. Thank Him for the accident He saved you from that you didn’t see. Thank Him for those annoying moments, and Thank Him that you are seeing your bed again.

As you live your day, remember that God never intended for you to be stressful in 2020. Maybe you can borrow from last year’s post “1 Thing to do in 2019” and decide that you are going to live stress-free one day at a time.
I believe that regardless of how complex your life might be, these 3 Ways can help Simplify your life and help you enjoy life every day.
