The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths.
(Psalm 135:15-17, NIV)
In the above text, there is a vivid description of the idols of the nations: They are made by human hands. They have eyes, mouth, ears, and nose yet there is no life in them. Interestingly, they have to be carried because they can’t walk. In V18, the scripture says those who trust in them are just like them. What a joke!
- Now, let’s consider the God you serve:
- He has Eyes and can See
- Psalm 34:15: The eyes of the Lord is upon the righteous
- He has Mouth and can Speak
- Isaiah 40:5; And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
- He has Ears and can Hear
- 1 Peter 3:12; …his ears are open to their prayers
- He has breath
- Genesis 2:7; And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
- He can walk/move all over the World
- Deuteronomy 23:14; For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.
- He has Eyes and can See

Above all, In The Beginning, He Was.
