Hymns provide “a stage” for us to pour our hearts to the Lord. In our solitude moments, they inspire us and draw us closer to our Daddy.
Sometimes when you don’t know what to say and how to say it…sometimes when your own words aren’t enough to express how you feel, a hymn could light you up and get you moving, trusting in the Lord.
One of my favorites hymns is “Thy Word Have I Hid in My Heart” by Ernest O. Sellers. It helps me most during temptation.
I don’t know which one is your favorite but in any situation (you many find yourself), don’t forget your hymns.
Thy Word is a lamp to my feet,
A light to my path alway,
To guide and to save me from sin,
And show me the heav’nly way.
Thy Word have I hid in my heart
That I might not sin against thee;
That I might not sin, that I might not sin,
Thy word have I hid in my heart.
