“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” (Philippians 4:6, AMP)
A common tool the enemy uses to keep you from praying is worrying. But when you Understand the importance of Prayer and Know how to make your request through Prayer, you will not spend (even) a second of your precious time to worry.
- Make Specific Request:
Assuming your two children made the same request for phone:
First Child: Dad/Mum I need a phone…pls get me phone from the shop“.
Second Child: Dad/Mum I need Iphone 6 plus, color: Space gray, 16GB from the shop by Friday. I love you so much. Thank you for always getting me what I ask for”
Which of these requests would easily catch your attention? and how would you respond to each?
Know what you want, how you want it, and when you want it. Then talk to God about it in Jesus’ Name. That is what Asking in Faith is all about
God wants us to be specific with you request(s) because He has immeasurable resources to meet your every need. Nothing is too big for him. In John 14:14 (KJV), Jesus said “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” Emphasis added.
Anything means anything, whether big or small, existed or yet to be made, etc.
What do you want from God or what do you want to see in your life in the remaining days of this month, or remaining months of the year? Be like the second child and be specific with what you want from God.
We are to pray in The Spirit and in Truth, yes Jesus said we do not have because we do not ask or we ask for selfish reasons but I’m in agreement with you when it is in the heart of God, He hears and answers us always. To pray in Jesus’s name is to also pray in obedience, God tells us He does not listen to the prayers of those who Sin accept for repentance, in this His mercy overflows.
John 14:13-15 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it if ye Love me keep my Commandments.
Psalm 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not Sinners but if any man be a Worshipper of God and doeth His will him He heareth
Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart The Lord will not hear me but verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my Prayer. Blessed be God which hath not turned away my Prayer nor His Mercy from me.
James 4:3 Ye ask and receive not because ye ask amiss that ye may consume [it] upon your lusts.(KJV)
This is why we are to Pray with the empowering of The Holy Spirit, not our Carnal Flesh, which we are to put to death as Romans 8 and other Scriptures confirm and we do this as we Aim to be Perfected in Love just as Paul did, yes he battled with his Carnal flesh Romans 7 & 2Corinthians.12:9 but he was Victorious in the end and so would receive The Crown of Righteousness.
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all Prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all Saints.
Christian Love and Blessings – Anne.
