Jesus thought us that when we pray, we should ask for our daily bread according to Matthew 6. This, He said, means that God has made enough provision for everyone’s need. He has enough to satisfy your insatiable needs. He knows no lack.
The scripture says in Nehemiah 9:21 (AMP) that “Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell.” Let us give this sentence a thought; “They lacked nothing in the wilderness.” God provided their needs for Forty years in an area where there was no food or water. A point to note is that they were over 2 million. Someone once said that if God could feed the elephant, wouldn’t He be able to feed the ant? In other words, if God could provide for over 2 million people, would he not be able to supply all your needs?
Many years ago, I started praying “Give me today my daily bread”. Sometimes I would add that “Father I don’t know how You are going to do it But I know that you will provide”. What happens in the day is that God miraculously provide for me. I have often wondered about how He works but I have got no clue yet. His ways are far above our ways indeed.
Be encouraged to ask God, instead of man, for your daily bread and He will provide for you (both spiritual and physical needs) in ways you have never imagined in Jesus’ Name. Amen
