Nowhere is Safe But Only in Jesus

What is the world turning into? We live in the days where little or no value is placed on the human soul. I have been trying to publish message for the Church but each time I tried, there was a hindrance; either from the flesh or time. But I thank God for enabling me to write this post today. My humble request is that you pray for me every day so that I can effectively do what is assigned to me. God bless you richly.

Lately, there have been series of attacks on innocent people all over the world; from Charlie Hebdo to persecution of minority Christians in Iraq. We can talk of attacks in Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, US, France, Kenya, Nigeria, Mali, Somalia, Egypt, etc. These are the common ones that international cameras could capture.

What about those we do not hear anything about in remote places? The world is full of darkness and violence. Last month, Germanwings Flight 9525 came down, killing all 150 people aboard. Only God knows what made Andrea Lubitz crashed the plane. And in Kenya, Al shabaab killed around 147 innocent people on Garissa University campus.

These are some of the stories that if we are not careful, we live in fear instead of faith. The scripture says in Proverbs 18:10 (NLT) that “the name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe”. We have a Father we can run to for safety. Hallelujah!

Someone may ask that why did God not save His children on Flight 9525 and those on Garissa University? Could God not have changed the pilot’s mind or forced the cockpit door to open when the co-pilot made several attempts? Could God not have revealed the plot to kill students at Garissa University to the Church? There are many unanswered questions in this life But our God (the Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscience Father in Heaven) knows best.

Jesus said in John 16:1-4 (NLT) that “I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith. For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. This is because they have never known the father or me. Yes, I’m telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember my warning. I didn’t tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer”

The attack on Westgate Mall in Kenya and in similar attacks where the terrorists targeted the Church is a sign that we are living in the last day. Jesus’ coming is nearer.  We should always remember that Heaven is our Home. We are just passing through this world (which is reserved for fire).

We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.” (1 Chronicles 29:15, NLT)

Paul said that “for me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better” (Philippians 1:27, NLT). This is a win-win deal for every child of God. God has Power to save His children today as He did in the past. However, He knows, as we also know, that there is NO BETTER PLACE THAN HOME. When you ask any soldier, who was in Afghanistan or Iraq, how he felt when he heard the news that his mission was over and that he was coming home to meet his family and friends, he/she will tell you that it was a moment of joy. It is good news to leave an unsafe place to home. Therefore in the face of death the person without Jesus Christ has lost. For us, it is a win because Jesus is waiting for us at the other side. Hallelujah!

“In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2, AMP)

The world is not safe anymore but in Jesus there is hope. Therefore commit to Him whatever you do and He will order your steps. Do not let your heart be troubled for He has ordered His angels to protect you wherever you go and should you die along the way, there is hope of spending eternity with Jesus.

God bless you
