Be READY, Be WISE!

A traveller got to the airport late and realised he had left his passport on his study table. He had interview the following morning so missing the flight means he was going to miss the lifetime opportunity. He missed the flight, and missed the job.
How could you forget your passport? A friend asked. He responded “I was in a rush and can’t believe I left what was important behind.”

A hunter went to the forest only to realise he had no bullets in his gun. He saw an antelope but couldn’t kill it because his gun was empty. He walked home with nothing. His wife asked him; how could you forget to load your gun before leaving the house? This is something every farmer does before leaving the house. He replied “I had a lot on my mind. I was worried about so many things”

In my country, a group of armed men escaped because the police car which was chasing them ran out of fuel. When the officers were asked about what caused that they said the driver forgot to fill the tank the day before.

I wonder why people sometimes forget the most important thing(s) in life. It could be a driver’s car key, student’s pen and calculator for exam, wedding ring for wedding, mobile phone for important call, etc.

In the Bible, Jesus spoke about five virgins who took their lamp, and didn’t not take extra oil with them. When the bridegroom delayed, they ran out and missed the feast. However, they that had extra oil were ready for the wedding. They went in with the bridegroom to the wedding banquet. Matthew 25:1-13

Friend do you have your passport in your bag? Do you have bullets in your gun? Have you filled your tank? And do you have extra oil with you?

Jesus said

“So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return. (Matthew 25:13 NLT)

You, too, must be ready! For you don’t know the day or hour Jesus will return. Don’t forget that is the most important thing in this life; We are waiting for Jesus’ return. Stay away from things that defile your body. Put on the whole armour of God. Love your your neighbour as yourself. Do what Christ expects from you. I know that I will meet you in Heaven. Heaven is our home. Be ready, Be wise!

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28 KJV)

Jesus is coming soon!
