Hello everyone!
God has been good to us; so good that He has ushered us into a new month, June 2013. Hallelujah! This is a clear indication that He is going to take care of us, bless us, and make us blessings to the nations. While we enjoy His benefits, let us not forget that our number one enemy will come to us through various means. He will present good reasons for us to doubt what God is going to do in our lives. He will try to find means to tempt us, or better still steal the word of God from our hearts. As a result, God expects us to be watchful, alert, and prayerful at all times.
God wants you to be watchful and alert:
1 Peter 5:8 says “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.”
What does it mean to be watchful and alert?
It means to be on guard like a soldier on duty.
You need to be focused because you don’t know when and where the enemy will attack you. He could attack in the morning, afternoon, evening, or night. Satan is one smart guy who knows what he is about so you’ve got to stay awake, and expect him at anytime. Three things to do as you watch are;
- Study the word:
It would be an advantage if you know what the Word of God says about your situation when the enemy attack. Satan will present false information about our situations. He will tell you “this is what God created you to be” or “this situation can never change” or “there is no way you can get out of this” or “do you think God cares about you because if He does, he wouldn’t allow you to go through this situation“. However, when you understand God’s purpose for that situation, by studying the Bible, you will hold every negative thought captive and believe God’s promises of restoration. The word of God is Life.
The scripture says “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (Proverbs 4:23). A person will go the extra mile to achieve his/her heart desires. The problem arises when those desires are not based on the Word of God. So as we start this new month, we have guard our heart so that we can get rid of all the filthy desires Satan will try to shift our focus on.
- Resist the Devil
“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:6, 7)
God wants you to be Prayerful:
Prayer connects you to your Source.
God wants you to come closer to Him this month and the way to achieve this is through Prayer. God is ready to hear everything you want to tell Him through prayer.
- Prayer brings you closer to God as you are able to talk to Him, and Listen to what He has for you
- Prayer is a channel through which you can thank God for all He has done, all He is doing, and all He is going to do in your life
- Prayer makes you strong and Powerful
- Prayer helps you get answers to your problems
- Prayer enables you to live victoriously in Christ Jesus
- Prayer will help you to overcome temptation
Friend, God is ready to send down rain but you must prepare your field to receive. Don’t let this month pass without receiving all the benefits God has in store for you. It’s my prayer that as you stay awake and pray this month, God will show Himself to you in a way you have never imagined in Jesus’ Name.
