HOPE IN THE FUTURE

HOPEThe darkest hour is just before dawn.

And

Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. (Psalms 30:5 NLT)

Therefore

No matter what you’re going through, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and it may seem hard to get to it but you can do it and just keep working towards it and you’ll find the positive side of things. -Demi Lovato

THE OLD WOMAN AND HER TV

20130216-185127.jpg

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. (Job 1:21 NIV84)

I was only 12 years when my parents travelled. Everything was ok for me except that I had no TV in my room. I had to go to a friend’s house to watch my favourite programs but it wasn’t so romantic as my friend’s grand mum wouldn’t allow me to have a piece of mind. She would insult us from the start of a program to the end. Sometimes I wish I never went there again but there was no other option.

Four years later, my mother bought a desktop computer with TV card for me so I stopped watching TV from that house. I relocated to a different neighbourhood and later heard that my friend’s grand mum had passed away. She died living the TV behind. A year or two later, her husband also died living the TV behind. Initially, I thought she was going to go with the TV but it never happened that way.

Friend, don’t look down upon your neighbour because you have something he/she doesn’t have. Don’t put yourself in a certain class because of earthly pleasure(s). You are who you are, and what you are because of the Grace of God. It’s ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6 NIV84). The woman insulted me couple of times because of TV but she couldn’t carry it to eternity.

Naked you came from your mother’s womb, and it is certain that you will depart naked.

I Love My BIBLE

20130215-173932.jpg

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8 NLT)

I love my Bible. It is the Greatest Book in Human history; second to none. Voltaire said “One hundred years from today the Bible will be a forgotten book.” Today, Voltaire is gone and his house was used as the book depository for the French Bible Society. They sold Bibles out of his house! It’s now a museum. People have forgotten Voltaire. Nobody forgets the Bible. This confirms what Jesus said “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35 NLT)

I study my Bible everyday, and I meditate on it day and night. These two move together. After I have studied it, I say what it says. The more I study and meditate, the more it becomes part of me. The Bible directs my thoughts, it shapes my words, it tells me what to do, and it is leading me to where God has destined me to be.

It is believed that our thoughts determine our words. Our words determine our actions. Our actions determine our destiny. If this is true, then it sums up what God said to Joshua in Joshua 1:8. When you study and meditate on the Word of God, The Word shapes your thought life. You will think differently, you will start to talk differently, and you are going act differently. Your attitude will change automatically. And since a person’s attitude determines his altitude, your new attitude is going to determine how far you will go in life.

My Bible contains words that lift me up when I am down. I am what it says I am, I can do what it says I can do, and it gives me hope to face the unknown. I have one on my Bed, one on my study table, one on my phone, and other places.

I don’t know what you do with your Bible but I will encourage you, if you study, to continue studying. Meditate on it day and night, do what is written in it, and I can assure you that you will succeed in all you do. Your life will never be the same in Jesus’ Name. Amen
