THE OLD WOMAN AND HER TV

Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. (Job 1:21 NIV84)

I was only 12 years when my parents travelled. Everything was ok for me except that I had no TV in my room. I had to go to a friend’s house to watch my favourite programs but it wasn’t so romantic as my friend’s grand mum wouldn’t allow me to have a piece of mind. She would insult us from the start of a program to the end. Sometimes I wish I never went there again but there was no other option.

Four years later, my mother bought a desktop computer with TV card for me so I stopped watching TV from that house. I relocated to a different neighbourhood and later heard that my friend’s grand mum had passed away. She died living the TV behind. A year or two later, her husband also died living the TV behind. Initially, I thought she was going to go with the TV but it never happened that way.

Friend, don’t look down upon your neighbour because you have something he/she doesn’t have. Don’t put yourself in a certain class because of earthly pleasure(s). You are who you are, and what you are because of the Grace of God. It’s ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6 NIV84). The woman insulted me couple of times because of TV but she couldn’t carry it to eternity.

Naked you came from your mother’s womb, and it is certain that you will depart naked.
