GOD IS YOUR SOURCE

give thanksI am the Lord; that is my Name! I will not give my glory to anyone else. Isaiah 42:8 NLT.

I want to talk about recognising God as your Source. Every man loves his achievements; we talk about them, think through how were able achieve them; the struggles we faced, the good and bad times, etc. However, some people forget that God gave them strength, knowledge, and wisdom to achieve what they have.

It is the Lord Who gives us the strength to produce wealth. He is our Source.

In Deuteronomy 8:18 Amplified Bible (AMP) 18But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Learn to give God the glory for your success in life. In Ecclesiastes 6:2 (NLT), we are told that God gives some people great wealth and honour and everything they could ever want…” 

  1. TRUST IN GOD

God is the Creator of the universe, and He is our Father. He lives in us, and we are in Him. He loves us so much that He has built a hedge of protection around us, our family, and everything we have. He wants us to trust Him with our hearts. The wise man said in Proverbs 3:5-6 New Living Translation (NLT), Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” I love MSG translation “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.”

Friends, let us trust in the Lord with all our hearts. He will show us which path to take daily.

          2.  DO NOT TRUST IN WHAT YOU HAVE

The wise man said that “as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.” Proverbs 2:11. It is unwise rely on our bank accounts, degrees, properties, jobs, associations with men (the networks we have built around us), etc. because the “expected end” we seek would only come from the Lord. He alone has Power to take care of us. In Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) He said 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” So the next time you apply for a job, do not think your degree or qualification could fetch you that. Instead, believe that God has Power and plans to prosper you. He would help you get the job. When you are seeking for a contract, believe that He has given enough favour to get the deal. In every situation, in whatever we do, we must acknowledge that He is the One who would sustain us. The LORD will keep our going out and our coming in. Our bank accounts, degrees, properties, families, etc cannot protect our lives.  Some folks have had all life could offer but they are lying on hospital beds. Some have all but there is no happiness in their homes. I know a man who is not a Christian. He bought a big house, cars, gave his children good education, etc. His end is bitter; He is lying on a bed in a small room. He cannot talk, stand, etc. He cannot eat solid food. Food has to pass through a tube not through the mouth but the stomach. He worked hard, he was rich, he has a wonderful family, enough money in the bank, etc. However, none of these could make him live as he wants.

“Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot” Luke 12:15 MSG

       3.      GOD IS THE SOURCE

In the parable of the rich fool, God said to the rich man “you fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself” He is the Source of Life. It is easy to think your hard work fetched you that promotion but do not forget that God gave you strength to work. Besides, promotion comes from the Lord. He is the source of promotion.

Do you believe all things are possible with God?

If yes, then your job is to believe that God will confirm His Word. HE used raven to feed man, He divided the red sea and the Jordan river, He fed and clothed His children on the wilderness, Jesus rose from the dead, walked on water, healed the sick, fed thousands of people with few loaves. God is the source of everything. He worked through Jesus because Jesus acknowledged Him as his source. All the great men and women we have read about saw God as their source. Paul understood this principle that was why he could say “if God be for us, who can be against us?” In other words, when we are connected to our Source, who has the courage to come against us? Beloved, God is our Source.

When we stay connected to our source, or acknowledge that God is our source, we would live our lives enjoying His blessings. However, when we are disconnected, like a fish taken out of water, we would feel uncomfortable and in the end death is certain.

God understands your life more than anyone because He created you. If there is anything you do not understand about your life, ask Him for answers. If you are sick, broken-hearted, worried, afraid of what would happen in your future, lack wisdom, addicted to certain habit, etc, go to your Source and He would make what went wrong right. Daniel was always before the Lord for the things he did not understand. Friends, let us learn from him.

I will close with this;

 If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture: 
I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
