The Faith-Inspired Life

For we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—

(2 Corinthians 5:7, AMP)

Scenario:

A guy went to the hospital to see the doctor because he had a headache. The doctor put him on some medications which he took and was made well.  My question is;
Who/What cured the guy’s headache? Was it the doctor, the medication, or himself?

I have asked people and quite a number of them believed that it was the doctor.

Think about this for a minute;
What if the guy hadn’t taken those tablets?
What if he never followed what the doctor said? Do you think He would have been healed?

I believed he played an important role in his recovery process. Three things to consider here:
1. He went to the Hospital because he believed that the doctor would have a solution.
2. He took possession of the medications the doctor prescribed and believed that they would work.
3. He obeyed the instructions given by the doctor.

Like this guy, maybe you have a problem or you are in a situation that you have been struggling to find a way out of. You have spoken to the Doctor (God), who has given you the medications (His Word) you need to be healed (get out of the situation). If only you would obey His instructions and do as He says, you will be out of the situation. Maybe you are waiting for God to take the medicine for you but it never works that way. God has made it your responsibility to comply with the medication in order to enjoy its efficacy.

The Faith-inspired life is a life that lives based on what he/she believes. His/Her lifestyle is inspired by his/her Faith (which is spiritual). For instance, you go to God in prayer because you believe that He would help you. After you have prayed, the next thing you have is to let your words and actions be inspired by what He says through whatever means He chooses. It could be direct, or through another person, or event, etc.

During Jesus’ days, he attributed people receiving their miracles to their Faith.

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, “Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well.

(Matthew 9:12)

And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

(Luke 17:19)

God works with your faith. It’s your Faith that will open the windows of Heaven. We walk by Faith, we live by Faith. The truth is without it, it will be impossible to please God.

The good news here is this; you don’t need any bigger faith to get things done. All you need is the size of a mustard seed.  Like picking up the phone to call in spite of your fear of rejection.
Let your actions be inspired by your Faith.

“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,’ and it would obey you!

(Luke 17:6 NLT)

Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord?

Is anything too hard for the Lord? It’s easy to answer No and yet have doubts when challenges come your way; especially when you have waited for years to have a need met.

In Genesis 18, Sarah laughed when The Lord said she was going have a baby. It’s tempting to be critical about what she did but I believe she was real. Who would ever thought that someone would get pregnant at 90? She doubted but The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord ?…” (Genesis 18:13, 14 NLT)

Fast forward to the New Testament; Zechariah. A Jewish Priest who was righteous in God’s eyes and carefully obeyed all of the Lord’s command and regulations. The Bibles says they were very old. Yet their age (or limitation) couldn’t hinder what God had destined for their lives.

Be honest with yourself right now; Do you, sometimes, doubt God’s Power to perform?

Maybe facts show that you don’t qualify for what you seek, or your sickness is incurable, or your ministry is declining, or you are addicted to certain habits, etc. Truth is that I don’t have any idea about your situation BUT the question still remains; IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?

Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the Lord , the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:26, 27 KJV)

Friend, nothing is too difficult for Him. Don’t forget that we walk by faith not by sight. We don’t live by what we see, but by what we believe. God is turning your situation around now in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God is up to Something (1min read)

The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like yours. Your ways are not like mine. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9, ERV) emphasis added

When you are down to nothing, God is up to something. When you feel nothing is working and your world is falling apart, know that God is up to something. When everyone has given up on you, and you feel like you are alone, I can assure you that God is up to something. Throughout the Bible we read stories about how God showed up at the midnight hour to perform wonders.

When Joseph was down to nothing, God was up to something. God has a secret path in the sea but if He doesn’t allow you to get the shores of the sea and make attempt to move forward, you will never experience His awesome power of making the sea part. I don’t know what you are going through today. It may be as scary as the Children of God before the red sea but your Father in Heaven will deliver you before your enemies get closer. Remember His ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

You may be down to nothing, but I can tell you God is up to something. Don’t see your situation as setback because God can do in a single day what you have tried to achieve in 10 years. Whatever you have been through has prepared you for something bigger, better and greater.

We walk by Faith, not by sight. Don’t settle for what your eyes could see. Live beyond your boundaries. You may be down (in your) now but God will do wonders in your life before (your) tomorrow. Only Believe.

  • Why worry when you can Worship?
  • Why panic when you can pray?
  • Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Be encouraged that God is up to something BIGGER, BETTER AND GREATER
