DAY 4: LIVING THE WORRY FREE LIFE

dontworry_nivDon’t worry about your needs

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:33. NLT)

Jesus encouraged believers to keep first thing first, and the First thing you have to seek or fight for is the Kingdom of God. God has made provisions for everything you need in Jesus. However, some of us are not receiving because they are not keeping First thing First. They don’t mind the things of God. They are greedy and selfish. When they get up in the morning all they think about is work, family, food, and pleasure. Let us not forget what the Scripture says that “No one will succeed by strength alone.” 1 Samuel 2:9.  Seek first God’s kingdom. (You can read seek first the kingdom of God)

God wants you to live in abundance. Consider the story of Elisha and the Widow. Elisha told the widow to “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.” This tells me that when God is ready to give us more of everything we ask for in Jesus’ Name. The psalmist said in Psalm 37:25 that “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” NIV.

Friend there is nothing to worry about as God sits on the throne. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘what will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, buy your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” (Matthew 6:31-32. NLT) Among the things you do when you seek God kingdom is you walk by faith.  That is you have faith in him, and in his power to supply all your needs. Jesus never lacked anything on earth because his priority was on God’s Kingdom. He lived His life for His Father in heaven. You can do the same because the same Power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you. When you seek God’s Kingdom, I can promise you that you will never worry in this life as you would be connected to your Source. Live the worry free life.

Heaven and Earth will pass Away

The day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heaven will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live Holy and Godly lives as you look forward to the day of the Lord and speed its coming.

Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my Word will never pass away.

Friends let us examine this “Heaven and earth will pass away…”; we brought nothing here, and it is certain we will take nothing away. This beautiful world we see, and everything in it will pass away. In other words, they would be destroyed. And that include my body, and your body. Everything will come to an end.

Your cars, houses, degree, achievements, everything you are struggling for today has a set time to be destroyed. You are not going to have them forever. The most important thing you should care for is your soul. Your soul will remain But where would it go? In Heaven, or In Hell? 1 peter 1:24 says “for all men are like grass, and their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers, and the flowers fall.”

In James 4:14, the question is “…what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” Job added in Job 14:7 that “for there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. But man dieth, and wasteth away; yea man giveth up ghost, and where is he?”

We are here for one purpose; to fear God and to keep His commandments; (Eccle 12:13)…therefore, flee the evil desires of your youth. 2 Timothy 2:22.

God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. And our secret sins are in the light of His presence. Psalm 90:8. Most of us do things having in mind that no one is watching. The truth is God sees us from above. He will bring everything to light. On that day, you would know everything I did with my life, and I would know all the good and bad things you did.

It is good to go to school, have better job, buy cars, build houses, and have a wonderful family, hang-out with friends, eat, go to church, and go for holidays. But Be careful, or your heart will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness, and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.

Remember this “…but my words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:53. “…But the word of the Lord stands forever” Isaiah 40:8.  And by the same word, the present Heaven and Earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of Judgement and destructions of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:7. Friends, the Word of God stays forever until it achieves the purpose for which it was sent. The Word says the present Heaven and Earth are reserved for fire. Ungodly men are also going to be destroyed. It is my prayer that none of us would sleep as we wait for the day when we would be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise (that Heaven and Earth are reserved for fire) as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. As you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming, bear in mind that our Lord’s PATIENCE means SALVATION.

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.

The conclusion of the whole matter is Be happy young man, while you are young and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see. But know that for all these things, God will bring you to Judgement. Eccle 11:9
