Arise, Shine

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. (Isaiah 60:1, KJV)

The story would have been different if Jesus Christ hadn’t risen from the dead. Of course the enemy would have had the last laugh, probably laugh out loud (lol) knowing that he had defeated our Master at the battlefield. BUT God raised Jesus from the dead and He triumphed over Satan and his demons. He lives! Hallelujah! And because He lives, we live also.

The greatest victory is what Jesus won on the Cross. Remember Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35) and before His ministry, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him, enabling Him to carry out purpose on Earth, then He died. But God raised Him from the dead (Romans 8:11) on the third day. If Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless and your faith is useless” (1 Corinthians 15:14, NLT).

Christ victory wasn’t one off event as He ascended to The Father’s right hand and He is Reigning. He said in Luke 22:69 that “But from now on the Son of Man will be seated in the place of power at God’s right hand”.  In 1 Corinthians 15:25 (NLT) Paul said that “For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet.” Jesus is reigning, and the Spirit that made Jesus the Christ is at work in you. Your body is His temple.

“If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11, KJV)

Jesus has given us victory over sin, over Satan and his demons, and over anything they would try to do to hurt us. Therefore Arise, Shine. You are no longer a slave because God paid the price to set you free. And The same Spirit that made Jesus the Christ lives in you. This means that you are full of capabilities. No wonder Jesus said “whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:12, NIV). Your greatest asset in this life is the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life.

To Arise means to recognise that you are God’s masterpiece and that you are above every situation or challenge that might come your way. It also means to see yourself as God sees you. If you see yourself as one miserable sinner, poor, disease prone, fearful, and the likes after the price God paid, then you have not arisen. And to Shine is to walk in the victory God, through Jesus Christ, has given you. You show forth His glory. That is people should be able to tell that you are God’s precious possession by the way you live, and your life shows His goodness.

In this year, let others see Jesus in you. Say No to things that defile your body, the temple of the Holy Spirit, so that He (Holy Spirit) can have His way in you and unearth your greatest potentials. Know that sickness, disappointment, failure, rejections, bad reports, fear of unknown, poverty, scarcity, barrenness, infertility, disease, pains, etc are under your feet. You have power over them so begin to light up and SHINE! God bless you

The Word of God is Light

20130215-173932.jpgYour word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105, NLT)

Jesus quoted the scriptures when he was tempted by Satan. Satan also quoted the scriptures but Jesus had all wisdom. I thank God that Jesus defeated Satan.

Friends we must know what the Word says for every situation. I believe it is a MUST for every child of God. The Psalmist said in Psalm 119:103, 105 that “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” AMP.

The Word of God is Light, and it helps us walk in this world of darkness. Every morning, before you think about anything, take some time study the Word. And all through the day, meditate on what God’s Word says. It will help you to make right decisions, and guide your path from every plot of Satan.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11 KJV)

Be encouraged to study the Word in the Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. Let the Word be part of you and you will Shine in Jesus’ Name. Amen

God bless you!

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. (Daniel 12:3 NLT)
