What Robe are you wearing?
“But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.
“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
“For many are invited, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:11-14
Christ, the Bridegroom, is coming soon. He is coming to take His faithful brides home. He is coming yet majority of us are living lives that are contrary to what He expects from us.
my question today is:
what robe are you wearing?
I don’t like outing or going for occasions. I am a reserved type. I prefer to stay home to read my books, listen to music, surf the net, or watch movies. However, I have friends who love the “show”. They find the perfect clothes for the day (occasion). My point is we pay more attention to the things of the flesh than those of the spirit.
The mind of the flesh is enmity against God.
From the passage, when the King saw the person who wasn’t dressed for the occasion, He ordered His men to bind him and throw him into the outer darkness. I believe this is what would happen on the last day. Most people have accepted to follow Jesus but they still have their old dirty and filthy clothes on. Such people are not fit for the King’s party. They would be rejected if they don’t put on their new clothes of righteousness.
Put on your robe of righteousness.
Many Christians are wearing their garments of anger, lying, gossiping, backbiting, fear, wrath, malice, filthy communication, fornication, etc. They want to be known as Christians but they don’t live like one. We are told to let our lights shine before men. In other words, people should be able to identify us whenever we may be.
I don’t know the kind of robe you have on today. You know yourself better than your neighbor. Would the King like your robe on that day? Or would He command His guards to bind you and throw you into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth?
Many are called, but few are chosen

10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
WHO ARE YOU GOD?
I want to share with you today experience I had one morning with God. So often we hear people ask these questions; WHERE IS MY GOD? WHO IS GOD? WHO IS JESUS? WHY HAS GOD FORSAKEN ME, MY FAMILY, ETC? WHY HASN’T GOD ANSWERED MY PRAYER? Etc. I woke up one early morning, and while I was meditating on His Word, I asked this question; WHO ARE YOU GOD? I wanted to know more about Him. David became a man after God’s heart because he took time to understand GOD’s precepts. Suddenly, someone spoke. It was a soft voice. He said “my name is I AM”. “What does I AM means? I have heard it so many times” I asked
I felt a hand on my shoulder, and He said:
“I AM YOUR PROVIDER
I AM YOUR HEALER
I AM YOUR BANNER
I AM YOUR SANCTIFIER
I AM YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS
I AM YOUR HOST
I AM YOUR PEACE
I AM YOUR MOST HIGH GOD
I AM YOUR SHERPHERD
I AM EVERLASTING GOD
I AM EL-SHADDAI
I AM EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER THINK OF
I AM HE WHO MAKES WAY WHERE YOU THINK THERE IS NO WAY
I AM YOUR STRENGTH
I AM HE WHO LIVES IN YOU, AND WALKS IN YOU
I AM HE WHO KNEW YOU BEFORE YOU CAME TO THE WOMB.
NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR ME. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH ME. AND
WITHOUT ME, YOU CAN DO NOTHING.
TAKE CARE MY SON. DON’T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING BECAUSE I AM WITH YOU.”
It was a wonderful encounter. We serve a living God. He speaks to us, He calls us but we hardly recognise His voice. Has it ever occurred to you that someone called your name, you turned, asked who called you and almost everyone said “No I haven’t called you”. What did you do? It was HIM. Some unbelievers used to say ghost.
Be encouraged today that no matter how big your problem may look like, GOD is bigger than that problem. Money, Job, School, Scholarship, Healing, Prosperity, etc, He is Bigger and Greater than these. BECAUSE HE LIVES, …….
