Bedrock for Success

Don’t worry about money, fame, opportunity, etc because they can come in seconds But let me tell you what you should be concerned about; CHARACTER. It takes time to build and maintain good character. Like an Iceberg, Character is the hidden (unseen) part of your life.

Regardless of the level of fame and/or wealth you get, if character is no good, everything will collapse with least shock. That’s why we see great men and women going down the drains because they couldn’t control some desires at some point in their lives.

The danger of not guarding yourself well is that just when you thought everything is okay and you are going to go up in life, something you did in the past pops up to bite you hard.

The good news is that Right Character can be built/developed on the Word. The Psalmist said that (Psalm 119:11) “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you“. Jesus also said “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.” (Matthew 7:24).

Take a lesson from Mordecai in the book of Esther. He did what was right by reporting a plot against the King. He did it out of good conscience and it was recorded. When the right time came, the good he did in the past resurfaced and he was honoured by the same person who sought after his downfall.

So you see, when you are at the peak of your life (career), bad character will pull you down. However, good (right) character will push you up when you are at the lowest point of your life. Also note that when your character is good/right, you will do what is good/right. The opposite is true.

Friend, You are destined to succeed in this Life therefore guard what is truly important; Character. God bless you

STUDY THE WORD

How can a young person stay pure?
By obeying your word. I have tried hard to find you—
don’t let me wander from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:9-11 NLT)

Jesus quoted the scriptures when he was tempted. Satan also did but the good news is our Lord knew what was written. I thank God Jesus defeated Satan.

Friend we must know what the Word says. I believe it is a MUST for every child of God. David said in Psalm 119:103, 105 that “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” AMP.

The Word of God is Light, and it helps us walk in this world of darkness. Before you start your day, spend some time with God. And all through the day, meditate on what God’s Word says. Be encouraged to study the Word in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8 NLT)

God bless you.
