“Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.” (Psalms 37:18,19)
From everlasting to everlasting, He is God. And by His mercies, you are not consumed. Welcome to a new year. It is the year of the Lord.
He knows all things and sees all things. Day and night are the same to Him. The psalmist declares, “Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps” (Psalms 121:4, NLT).
The next verse went further to say that not only does God watches over Israel, but “The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as a protective shade.” (Psalms 121:5, NLT).
Listen – because He is beside you, even when you walk through the darkest valley, you do not need to be afraid. God is still in control over your life. He does not change. As He was, He is, and so He will be. Don’t be anxious about what lies ahead in the year—he has you.
In this year, you will experience God, through Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit, in extraordinary ways, in Jesus’ name.
But there is a responsibility.
Nothing happens in a vacuum. God wants to work through you. You are His temple and His ambassador. Just as nations work through their ambassadors to bring change, God works through you to impact the world around you. You were brought here on purpose.
Often, we are waiting on God to act, while God is waiting for us to act—because He has already made available the resources, authority, and grace we need.
Let this be the year you keep doing things you would normally be afraid to do. Keep taking one step at a time, and watch what God will do through you.
Lesson from Ezekiel 37
God asked Ezekiel, “Can these bones become living people again?”
Ezekiel replied, “You alone know the answer to that.”
In verses 5 and 6, God described what he would do. But before that, in verse 4, God instructed Ezekiel to do something:
“Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!”
God told Ezekiel to speak.
What has God told you to do this year? Are you going to be obedient and act?
Ezekiel obeyed. And in verse 7, he said:
“So I spoke this message, just as he told me. Suddenly, as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley…”
The miracle followed obedience.
Perhaps you have been watching and waiting on God to bring your dry bones to life. God may be waiting for your prophetic word—your action, your obedience, your willingness.
God is waiting on you, His ambassador, to act this year. He is faithful to do His part as you obey.
Happy New Year, and welcome to your year of divine movement.
“Everything you want is on the other side of fear” is a popular quote used to make us believe that fear separates us from what we want so if we could just jump to the other side, then we would see the world of possibilities.
It worth noting that fear is a spirit, some imaginations, that limit man from being who God created him to be. It is also a major weapon the enemy uses to keep man bound in his comfort zone. With this backdrop, it’s tempting to believe that Everything you want is on the other side of fear.
Is that always the case?
Well! as believers our Bible tells us that God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear. Therefore we fear no fear. As interesting as it could be, what then separate us from our dreams, aspirations, desires, among others?
God, through the Holy Spirit, reveals His purposes for our lives and further shows us how to achieve those purposes. Understand that His purpose for my life is different from yours, the same as yours is different from your family and friends.
Sidetrack, a major challenge.
However, we are easily swayed by other desires because we want to compete. It can be recalled from the disciples that each had different assignment and they were able to pursue that with love and passion and nothing could intimidate them.
Making it more personal
When you identify your purpose and allow your spirit to sync with the Holy Spirit, He guides you at every stage of your life. He will speak to you and all you have to do is to OBEY. Yeah! JUST OBEY.
Obedience is the KEY
Obedience unlocks the supernatural. Abraham got hold of the promise through Obedience. Here is what is tricky, God word(s) wouldn’t or may not ALWAYS make sense to you. But someway somehow, you’ve got to do it. The problem isn’t about fear BUT about your willingness to do what He tells to do.
Does fear keep us from obeying God’s spoken Word?

I don’t think so. I believe it’s TRUST issue. When you are absolute about the things of God and fully trust Him with your life, you do what He says without questioning the logic behind. When the weather guys say there will be rain, we carry umbrella because we tend to believe them from previous predictions. Sometimes the sun might be on in the morning but we carry umbrella anyway. It’s same with God and His Word. When His word comes to you about your situation, JUST DO IT. You do it because you Trust Him, and you Trust Him because you Love Him. “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear.” (1 John 4:18, NLT)
A simple clue;
What has been on your mind lately? What one thing do you feel so strong about? What does the Holy Spirit keep telling you to do? Know that the miracle is in the doing so act on the word. Act on your Faith and always remember Obedience unlocks the supernatural.
“Just Do It” encourages people to step beyond their boundaries and helps us curb our everyday excuses for doing nothing.
Today I want to talk about Just Do It because it’s an important topic that can’t be skipped in our walk with God.
Just Do It, from the Christian’s viewpoint, has two components;
Faith
Obedience (Obey)
Faith in the Word
The scripture says in Hebrews 11: 1 (NLT) that Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. From the Amplified translation, “Faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of thing [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]”.
And in Roman 10:17 (KJV) “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God” The word of God isn’t limited to the written words in the Bible but it’s also what God, through the Holy Spirit, speaks to you which is consistent with His standards in the Bible. For instance God will never tell you to steal in order to be prosperous, or sleep with a person in order for that person to marry you. These two contradict what the Bible says. Instead, God will tell you the business to do and steps to take in order to be prosperous. Therefore in order to have confidence that what you hope for will actually happen, you need to hear more of God’s word and believe in the Word.
Give yourself some few minutes to answer the following questions:
What word have you heard directly from the Lord, or what word have you heard from the Lord through His ministers or servants, or what word has He spoken to you through the Scriptures?
Do you have the confidence that what you hope for, or what God has revealed to your spirit will actually happen?
Obeying the Word or Acting on the Word is the most challenging task in our walk with God. Often we hear the word; we believe in them and yet remain passive while expecting miracles to happen. Those who received miracles in Jesus’ days acted on the spoken word. That is when He told them to stand, they stood. When he told them to open their eyes, they did.
The miracle you seek is in Obedience to the Word. You’ve got to obey His word or do what He says. Just Do It.
In John 2:5, Mary told the servants to do whatever He tells them to do. When the servants obeyed without applying human reasoning to test the possibility of filling water pots with water for it to turn into wine, the miracle happened. There were legitimate questions those servants could have asked. They could have asked “why don’t we serve the water without pouring them into the jars?” or “what if we take it to the master of ceremonies and nothing happens? They could have asked these questions and many more but they chose to obey what Mary had said by doing whatever Jesus told them to do.
Another story that should prompt us to do whatever God tells us to do is in Luke 5. Peter had toiled for the whole night, caught nothing, and thought it was over for the day. The scripture says they were washing their nets when Jesus approached with his request. Jesus taught the crowd who had come to listen to the Word of God and Peter had the opportunity to hear what Jesus taught as he was within the circumference. When Jesus finished teaching, He gave a word to Peter, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your net to catch some fish” v4.
Toiling doesn’t guarantee success as the scripture has said that “No one will succeed by strength alone” I Samuel 2:9. You need divine direction(s) from God.
Peter couldn’t hide his frustration and replied “Master, we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing.” He told Jesus what he had been through and his strategies that didn’t work. However, He said something more which is “But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again”. In other words (my own words), Peter said “If I have my way, I wouldn’t do it because we had done this throughout the night yet caught nothing But because of what you have just said, I will do it again.” In v6, the scripture says “When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break”
This reminds me of what a song writer said that “When His message comes to you, there is but one thing to do, Just obey, Just obey”
Friend, God has many blessings concerning your life. He set your course before you were born and He has equipped you for the task ahead. One thing that remains is bringing your spiritual blessings into the physical. I will liken this to having your money with your banker. The money belongs to you but it’s with your banker. Until you take steps to withdraw with your check book or visa card you will not receive physical cash.
In the same way, when God blesses you He doesn’t take it back. As such every spiritual blessings he has assigned to you is yours But you need to Act on your Faith to bring them to physical. God thought about the Universe and it came to pass. He created you to function like Him therefore when He gives you a word, or an idea, or a thought, Just Do It. Stop applying human reasoning and giving yourself excuses as to how impossible that would be. Someone thought about Computer, another thought about Internet, another thought about Email, another thought about text message, another thought about mobile phone, another thought about Facebook, another thought about WordPress, another thought about Whatsapp. What are you thinking about? What is God’s spoken word about your situation? What idea do you have? Whatever it is, JUST DO IT.
