DON’T STOP ASKING

Storms of life are inevitable and they come in diverse ways. Personally, I wish they aren’t part of the package so that life journey could just be series of predictable events. The reality however is that You have something to deal with, and I have my share to handle.

Everyday has it’s huddles which is why you have to learn to live one day at a time. No carry forwards if you want to enjoy your life as well as deal with issues that matter for the day.

The year is still young but it’s tempting to overburden yourself with unmet needs, desires, goals, and maybe some unanswered prayer request(s). It’s depressing to listen to someone’s testimony and kind of wonder if God is keeping it real with you. I hear people testify daily, see the joy, smiles, and hear laughter of happiness at the other side of the phone. This is another reality we face each day but it doesn’t mean we should worry, or cry, or even doubt God because things aren’t happening according to our schedules. It means that we can Trust God that He is able to sort us out when the time is right.

In Psalm 37:18-19 (NLT), the psalmist said “Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that last forever. They not be disgraced in hard time; even in famine they will have more than enough.

God is taking care of you right now. One thing you may not know is that those who shared their testimonies with you also had to deal with the same emotions, thoughts, etc during their waiting period. I know dozens of people who complained, cried, doubted, didn’t want to pray again, etc during their waiting period but in the end, when their needs were met, they looked back and laughed.

Some day, not too far from now, you will also look back and say Thank You Lord. Your testimony will surpass anything you would ever imagine because your God is Big. In the meantime, don’t fret. Keep Asking, Keep Seeking, and Keep Knocking. When you take the first letter of Asking, Seeking, and Knocking, you get the word ASK. Therefore don’t STOP ASKING.

GOD WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU

20120527-093200.jpgDon’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6 NLT)
Let us imagine you have just received a letter and a cheque from the White House, and in that letter the President tells you “Don’t worry about anything; instead talk to me about everything. Tell me what you need and you would have it”.
How will this letter shape your thought life?
Are you going to continue worrying about things you need in your life?
How will you embrace this news?
I believe you are going to renew your mind, and start preparing your field to receive all the things you need from the White House. I can say that each time you have a need, you wouldn’t hesitate to call the President.
Let us consider the bigger picture now:
Your Father in Heaven is the Creator of the universe. The Scripture says The earth is the L ord ’s, and everything in it.” (Psalms 24:1 NLT). He owns everything so He doesn’t want you to worry about the little things you need. Jesus said “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.” Notice He used your Heavenly Father, not their Heavenly Father.  He concluded by asking you this question; “aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”(Matthew 6:26 NLT).
Friend, God wants to hear from you. He wants you pray about everything, tell Him all you need and thank Him for all He has done.

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.    For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7, 8 NLT)
Today is a new day and I want to encourage you to quit worrying and begin talking to God about everything. Everything means Everything; the big ones and the small ones, the funny ones and the bitter ones, etc.  God wants to hear from you, He wants to have relationship with you.
One important thing I want you to know is that God isn’t only concerned about your needs…He wants to be part of your life. However, we often ignore this great privilege.
God bless you

FERVENT PRAYER

20121127-085653.jpg

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. (James 5:16 NLT)

Nations have trust in their weapons. I saw what Israel did with its weapons about two weeks ago in the Middle East. When it comes to war, one thing a nation could rely on is the weapons it has. But as Christians, the weapons of our warfare are not canal. We do not war with physical weapons. Our number one weapon is Prayer. The devil tempts us everyday. In other words, the least chance he gets, he tempts us. Thus Jesus said Pray that you do not fall into temptation.

Have you reviewed your prayer life lately?

Jesus our High Priest set the pace for us to follow: He was tempted so he told us we would be tempted. He walked in Faith so he encourages us daily to walk in faith. He never worried so he us told in Matthew not to worry about anything. He fasted and prayed, so we must fast and pray. “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” (Luke 18:1 NLT)

I read Luke 22:44 today and I was surprised at what I saw. The Scripture says “He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.” (Luke 22:44 NLT). Jesus Christ, the Son of God, prayed more fervently…that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood? If the Son of God could pray more fervently when he saw what was ahead, what must we do in the day of trouble? What must we do when we are surrounded by enemies? What must we do when we are hit by storms of life? What must we do when the devil steals the joy in our homes, businesses, relationships, etc? I believe we have to pray more fervently.

Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops. (James 5:17, 18 NLT)

Be encouraged that Your earnest prayer has great power and produces wonderful results. Therefore Keep asking and it shall be given unto you. Never cease praying.

God bless you
