CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT IN HEAVEN

The Lord rewarded me for doing right. (2 Samuel 22:25 NLT)

There is a reward for every right thing you do. When you put smile on people’s faces, God rewards you. When you say no to sin, God rewards you. When you overcome any temptation, God rewards you. When you overcome any addiction, God rewards you. When you support the needy, God rewards you. When you do what is right in your society, God rewards you. Friend there is a reward for doing right.

Paul said in Philippians that “Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.” (Philippians 4:17 NIV). Paul was saying that their gifts were good. The gifts came at the right time, and they never stopped giving to support him. But what he desired was more be credited to their account in Heaven. Friend you have account in Heaven that God credits with every good thing you do. The returns on that account could come in many forms: It could be long life, new ideas, new opportunities, healthy living, uncommon favour, better job, good spouse, and the best of all is internal life.

I must confess that for over five years, I have not been to the hospital. I always thank God for my health, and I believe it’s part of the returns on my account in heaven. I don’t lack in life as God always send me help from His sanctuary. That is part of my blessings. And I am still striving to credit my account each blessed day by doing what is right with help of the Holy Spirit.

Do you know that your bank on earth can close down?

Yes, it could but your bank in Heaven stays forever as the owner is The Creator of the universe. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. (Galatians 6:9, 10 NLT)

LIVING CLEAN IN A DIRTY WORLD

The scripture says “anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT). Before you came to Christ, you lived according to the customs of the world. Your thought life, your words, and your actions were based on what you learned through socialisation. This old life died when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Your life now is a new one. The problem is although you are a new person, your environment hasn’t changed, some people you used to play with in your old life haven’t changed. In summary, the world isn’t getting any better so you are living as a new person in an old dirty world.

And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Mark 13:13 NLT)

Jesus had enemies because he thought differently, acted differently, and taught differently. He didn’t conform himself to the customs of the world. He lived clean in a dirty world. As you are living your life to please Him, the world isn’t going to accept what you think, say, or do. It is going to take offence of everything you do and people will go against you.

Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. (Hebrews 12:3 NLT)

Although parents, brothers, sisters, friends, business environment, society, etc are not going to accept you because of your new nature, Paul encourages that you think of all the hostility Jesus endured from sinful people so that you won’t become weary and give up. Don’t give up because the world hate you. Don’t give up because of the opposition you face in your office, home, church, etc. Look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2 KJV).

Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. (1 Peter 2:11, 12 NLT)

In A STRANGER IN THE LAND, I wrote about how you have to live as stranger on this planet. You are not of the world. Heaven is your home. Therefore let others see Jesus in you. I heard a story about what happened in a Sunday school class. The teacher described the live of Jesus and asked if anyone had seen Jesus before. Surprisingly, one girl stood up and said Jesus lived in a house across her street. Later in the day, the teacher found out that the man the young girl thought was Jesus lived like Jesus. His thoughts, words, and actions made the girl believed He was the Person her teacher was talking about in class. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:16 NLT)

CONCLUSION;

With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.

But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

(Ephesians 4:17-24, 28-30 NLT)

God bless you

ARE YOU EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM?

And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27, 28 NLT)

My question this morning is ARE YOU EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM?

We live in a corrupt society where it is difficult to distinguish between the good and the bad. People justify the wrong things they do with the scriptures. They forget that the life they live is a gift of trust. The Owner is coming soon and each person will be held accountable for what he/she does with his/her life. Wake up if you are sleeping and be prepared to meet The Lord. He is coming at an hour you would least expect. Keep watching.

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. (2 Corinthians 5:10 NLT) As a result, let us not conform ourselves to the customs of this world. Let us not live like the rest of the world. Others may sin but we cannot. Others may gossip but we cannot. Others may be lay for themselves treasures on this world but we cannot. Because Heaven is our Home. Jesus is preparing a place for you and I. I believe He will be disappointed if after He has prepared a place for us, then He comes to see us unprepared. Let us strip off everything that will prevent us from spending eternity with the Lord. In Hebrews 12, the apostle said “therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 NLT) Jesus is coming soon!

God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. (Ecclesiastes 12:14 NLT)

Friend Jesus is coming soon. He said “The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready.
You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected
.
” (Luke 12:37, 38, 40 NLT)

Are you eagerly waiting for Him?

God bless you!
