DAY 3 – WHY DID JESUS COME TO DIE?

His KingdomI came that they may have  and  enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:9, 10 AMP).

Many Christians today are enduring life. They are suffering from all sort of sicknesses and diseases, they are broke, broken hearted, depressed, afraid of the future, etc. Such people have not realised or understood the purpose of Jesus Christ in their lives. “Christ in you, the hope of glory“. When a person has Jesus, he/she has everything because God has placed everything that person needs in Jesus. And Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In other words, there is hope for the future.
In John 10:10, Jesus said the devil came to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan came to steal the joy in your family, he came to steal your health, your business ideas, promotion, and all other gifts you received from God. He wants you in Hell.
BUT
He came that you may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance. He came that you will have eternal life. Jesus wants you to enjoy each day of your life. What did he do to make that possible? He took every pain and sorrow, fear, sickness and disease,  disappointments, failures, sins, and guilt to the cross. When all was done, He cried IT IS FINISHED!
If Jesus hadn’t come to die, we would have remained slaves to sin. And if He hadn’t resurrected from the dead, we would have been the most miserable people on earth. I thank God for sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross so that we can be made right with Him. Today we can go before His throne of grace with confidence. Hallelujah!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE THIS CHRISTMAS

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever– (John 14:16 NIV84)

Christmas season is here with us again. It is a season when people reunite with their families and loved ones to remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a season of joy, hope, and happiness. However, the issues of this life are going weigh some of us down. Satan will try to steal their joy, and happiness. He will come with sicknesses, fear, pains, disappointment, rejection, worrying, etc. Do not forget that his job is to steal, kill, and destroy BUT Jesus came that we may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:10 AMP).
The MSG translation says “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” (John 10:10 MSG). Jesus came so that you can have real and eternal life, more and better life than you ever dreamed of this Christmas. Know that Jesus has not only given but He also wants to enjoy life, and have it in abundance. God is with you this Christmas.

Jesus promised the Holy Spirit before He left. He said “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever”. The provision was made before He left because He did not want leave us as orphans. We have the Counselor who teaches us all things, and reminds us of everything Jesus had said. As a result, when satan comes with his lies to steal, kill, and destroy our health, job, peace, marriage, relationship with God, relationship with other people, our love for God, the Holy Spirit promptly reminds us of what Jesus had said concerning our lives. Remember Jesus said He came that we may have, and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows.

Be encouraged that you are not alone this Christmas. The Holy Spirit is on the inside of you, and I believe you are going to have a great time in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
