God Watches Over You

The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade

(Psalm 121:5, NLT)

When you turn on the News today, I could assure you that one word would never skip your ears; Coronavirus. Yeah! It’s real…not a fiction…the map below shows cases outside China

The reality is that people are getting infection every day and the world is heading towards recession.

The question now is; How do you react to this?

It’s natural to get panic and be afraid because everybody is afraid to die. But Hey, your life is different with special assignment to complete so don’t give in to FEAR.

Psalm 121:5 says that “The Lord himself watches over you” therefore “Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you” (Psalm 91:5-7, NLT)

This too shall pass and you would be standing strong. The Blood of Jesus not only paid for your sins but also provide covering over your loved ones and you. His Name is also Powerful; the weapon you could rely on in such a moment. You are secured and Protected.

Be encouraged that Jesus is holding you securely and the evil one can’t touch you (1 John 5:18). You are Safe with Jesus.

Food For Thought

imageThis afternoon as I was meditating on God’s Word and pondering on what to post, I was led by the Holy Spirit to do something different. While praying in my heart about it, I was directed to go through my WhatsApp contacts’ status. I will share some few with you, as directed, and I trust that as you give a deep thought about them, you will be re-energized to run your race.

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6

One weapon the enemy is using in these last days is discouragement. He will use people to discourage you to quit your job, leave your home, quit your relationship, stop praying, stop going to church, etc. He doesn’t want the best for you so he will discourage you. He is happy when you are sick, depressed, worried, and afraid. He will tell you “there is no way this can ever be”. He will give you facts to let you believe that there is no hope in whatever you are going through. David encountered the same situation. They returned from battle to see their city on fire, and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. The Bible says David was greatly distressed for the people spake of stoning him. Everyone was against David but he encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Could it be that you made a mistake and everyone is against you? Could it be that your spouse or partner doesn’t trust you for a mistake you committed years ago? Could it be that you are no more accepted by the very people who appreciated everything you did in the past? Could it be that you are unemployed? Whatever the situation may be, I want you to encourage yourself in the Lord. Sometimes when there is no one to encourage you, you have to encourage yourself. Speak positive words to yourself. Read the word of God for strength.

“…those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” (Isaiah 40:31 AMP)

Could you guess what happened after David encouraged himself? He enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

God wants you to be courageous. He told Joshua “Only be thou strong and very courageous”.

I came to encourage you with these words and it is my prayer that God will give you strength and power to come out of every negative situation in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
