TURN AWAY FROM PEOPLE

When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd, He said, Go away, the girl is not dead but asleep. But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.” Matthew 9:23-25.

From the story Jesus saw the girl was asleep but the crowd thought nothing good could come from her. So when He made the confession that she was asleep, the crowd laughed. Here is my point; people may not see what you see because of the anointing of God upon your life. The idea you have today may not make sense to friends, family members, etc. They may say “well, you know this can’t work, it is impossible.” If you don’t turn away from them, they will kill that dream and burry that vision. Remember the crowd was put out before Jesus performed that miracle.

The same happened when David was sent to the battle field. Eliab, his oldest brother, ridiculed his status and accused him of laziness, pride, and naughtiness. The scripture tells us in 1 Samuel 17:30 that “And David turned away from Eliab to another…” When you tell people about what you want to do, or the way you perceive things, it is more likely that they will discourage you. But know that God put that seed in you. And He is the Only One who knows the way forward.

I will advise you turn away from friends, mothers, sisters, brothers, mentors, etc who do not support you in achieving what God has put in you. Know that, like Jesus and David, that situation or challenge is meant for you to bring glory to God. The seed of greatness is in you.
God bless you!

IT’S YOUR LIFE

I had a friend that I loved so much. Initially, I thought if I could meet all her demands, my friendship with her would be secured. Years later, things changed; they were not as they used to be. I got occupied and wasn’t able to do the stuff she wanted me to do. That was when the problems started. I became the “one person” on earth she didn’t want to see. she was a manipulator. She was selfish and never did consider my interest. Most Christians are in similar situation. A true friend would appreciate you for who you are and what you are. A true friend would say “I know you could have done this to help me but it is OK. I would find the next solution so that you have time for yourself”

Friends, life is too short to allow some people dictate for us.

It is your life and not anybody’s. Don’t do things because someone wants you to. Never allow someone to impose decisions on you. God has given you the ability to make right decisions and choices that is why He gave us His Word to guide us. If you listen to others long enough, and do what they say just to please them. You may miss God’s divine purpose for your life. In 1 Samuel 17:28-29 “When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.” 29 “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?” I believe if David had kept quiet and said let me listen to my elder brother, he wouldn’t have killed Goliath, and would have missed God’s purpose for his life. It is high time we stood up to make decisions that would help us achieve what God created us to be.

Some of us are pursuing certain careers because someone pushed them into it and they couldn’t say “No, that is not my field”. Some are in marriages because their Pastors, Parents, Friends, etc wanted them to marry that person. Some young folks are in relationships just to keep their friends happy; they want to be appreciated. If you live daily to please such people, one day, they may turn to be your enemies should you fail to do a single thing they ask you to do.

Let ask you these question;  Are you happy with the decisions you make daily?

Are they giving you the happiness you need in your life?

Are people happy with those decisions?

Are you independent?

I used to tell my parents that God gave me to them. It is their responsibility to take care of me, advise me, encourage me, and correct me when I am wrong. But they should not think of imposing any decision on me. It is my life, and at the end of the day, God would ask me what I did with my life. I would account for it. I thank God that they have never, not for once, imposed decisions on me. They offer them in a form of suggestions to hear what I have got to say. They consider my happiness, my joy, and they do respect the decisions I make. In Romans 14 12And so each of us shall give an account of himself [give an answer in reference to judgment] to God.”

I am not advising people to be disobedient to other folks, but the point I am making is do not live your life to please people. When someone wants you to do something, search from within to hear what The Holy Spirit has got to say. If it is right, you would hear Him say “go on, that is a good plan” It doesn’t matter whether that person is your pastor, elder, prophet, lecturer, mother, father, sister, counsellor, etc. From the scriptures, one time, Jesus told Peter “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 16:17. And at another time He said to Peter “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Matthew 16:23. My point is God can speak to us through certain people, and satan can use the same people to hinder us from achieving what God has for us. As a child of God and a follower of Jesus Christ, you should know when your Father in Heaven speaks. Jesus said in John 10:27  that “My sheep know my voice…” CEV

I will close with this Ecclesiastes 11 “9 You who are young, make the most of your youth. Relish your youthful vigor. Follow the impulses of your heart. If something looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; You have to answer to God for every last bit of it.” MSG. Take time to enjoy your life but don’t ever forget that the owner is COMING SOON

IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?

Is there not a cause? I feel like writing books on this question because it has been a blessing for ages. Here are some of the questions I ask myself everyday that I live.

Is there not a cause for my presence on this planet this day?

Is there not a cause for going through the University?

Is there not a cause for joining facebook?

Is there not a cause for creating a group (DYING SOULS FOR JESUS)?

Is there not a cause for …………….?

Let me ask you too;

Is there not a cause for coming into that wonderful family?

Is there not a cause for doing whatever you are doing now?

Is there not a cause for going through what you are going through now?

IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?

In 1Samuel 17:28; When Eliab, David’s oldest brother heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the desert? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.” (NIV)

In V29, And David said, what have I now done? IS THERE NOT A CAUSE? (KJV)

There was a cause for David’s presence at that particular time; To kill Goliath but his brother didn’t know. I am here to inform someone that there is a cause for his/her existence in that family, school, business and even in that situation he/she finds himself/herself right now though others have no idea.

Don’t be intimidated by anybody and never be discouraged by anything. David knew he was a shepherd and was always attending to the sheep (1Samuel 16:10) BUT God had a specific purpose for his life. That applies to you also; wherever you find yourself and whatever you find yourself doing, do it with all you might, your strength. God is with you, to give you all the strength you need to win this race.

David was anointed from being a shepherd to a king, ruling a whole kingdom. And our Lord and Master Jesus was traced to him.

ARISE, SHINE,

FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME,

AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD RISES UPON YOU.

AMEN!
