Thought for the Day: Faith Makes Things Possible (02.02.22)

And the Lord said, “If you have [confident, abiding] faith in God [even as small] as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree [which has very strong roots], ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea’; and [if the request was in agreement with the will of God] it would have obeyed you.

(Luke 17:6, AMP)

Faith makes things happen for you in this world because God made the Universe and everything in it by Faith. He spoke/commanded and they appeared. Since He made you in His image and likeness, and His Holy Spirit lives in you, you have the ability to command things to function according to your Words. Faith makes it possible for you to bring into reality what God has for you in His depository. Have you any Faith?

  • Have you got a strong feeling for something that is in agreement with God’s will?
  • Do you feel strongly that there is a step you can take to make that possible?
  • Taking that step is an act of faith. Forget about the size because Jesus said even if it is as small as a mustard seed, it can trigger huge response.

Speak Life

Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.

(Proverbs 18:21, MSG)

In the movie xXx (Triple X) 2002, there was a character named Kirill. He was a sniper and a member of Anarchy 99. He was very good at doing his job; Killing, not a good job though. He also loved to smoke. Upon meeting Xander Cage, he was warned that smoking would kill him one day. But instead of saying something positive, he said “I like smoke better than air. If I could, I’d smoke in my sleep. I would still do after it kills me.Fast forward: the smoke lead to his death.

Kirill Smoking

It’s interesting how people sometimes joke with Words. They say all matter of things about their lives, businesses, friends, family, etc while at the same time expecting different results. It doesn’t work that way. You get what you say. That’s why Proverbs 18:21 says Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose.

Are you feeding your life with poison or fruit?

Jesus Christ demonstrated how powerful words can be during His days on earth. When He spoke positive things, the results were positive. He spoke life to dead bodies and they returned to life. He calmed the storm with words. He healed with words. He cast demons out with words. His words came with Authority because they were clean. His lips spoke Life. However, in an unusual situation, when he cursed a fig tree, it died.

Take a closer look at your life in entirety. what have you been saying to yourself, about your spouse, children, parents, business, dreams, vision, purpose, etc? Are the results any different from your words?

Opportunity to Rewrite:

Every new day is an opportunity to start over. If your words haven’t been good, change it. Speak life. Be mindful of what you say. The scripture adds that “Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.” (Ephesians 4:29, MSG)
Start gifting your life with positive words. Words that inspire you to move forward despite roadblocks that (may) lie ahead. The world may be against you but you can be for yourself. What words are you going to SAY today? Would they be Poison or Fruit? What you say to yourself matters. Speak Life.
