What If It Works?

Within heroes lies the feeling of fear, worry, anxiety, self-doubt, etc. But what they do is that despite what tends to hold them back, they gather the courage to move ahead. They trust this inner voice that gives them hope that “what if it works?“.

In your deliberations about your plans for this life, pay close attention to your spirit being. He/she whispers amid the clouds of doubt, “What if it works?”

If there is a 1% chance that you will succeed, give it a try? What if it works?

While thinking about this message, I calculated Gideon’s chances of success in the book of Judges. He planned to go to war with 32000 troops but God reduced it to 300, which is 0.94% of his planned number. The irony is that his 32000 was about 4 times lower than the Midianite army. Now, put it in a context where he is going up against an army of about 135000. What was Gideon’s chance of success? Your guess is as good as mine, 0. Was Gideon afraid? Yes. But he trusted in what God had said and he won.

As a child of God, He has given you His Word: “Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.” (Isaiah 41:10, MSG)

In this year, you will feel fear. Anxiety will knock at your door. The News will look bad. And of course, you are going to have a sense of self-doubt. But you’ve got to keep going because God is with you. Every little step will matter. And remember that slow motion is better than no motion. Steven Covey put it this way; Where you are going is more important than how fast you are going. Don’t let the feelings stop you. What if it works?

Is The News Scaring You? Read This

Encourage those who are afraid. Tell them, “Be strong, fear not, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.”

(Isaiah 35:4, TLB)

We live in the days where when you turn on News channel, there is real time information about people dying in your country. Authorities instituted lockdown to help curb the spread, bringing (some) hope that at least not moving out is better. Then WHO came out again that staying home also has risk because the spread remains at household level, thereby suggesting that testing should be done at homes and infected persons removed to isolated facilities.

Life, we have grown to experience, is about spending quality time with family and friends, especially during events like Easter, birthdays, wedding, christening, etc. But who are you to dare organize an event (now). In some countries, soldiers (and police) will whip you for flouting the rules.

This development raises lots of questions on people’s mind, and breeds fear. Someone said to me that “any reasonable person would be afraid because no one seems to have solution“. Others are hoping that someday, a vaccine would be the answer. Until then, where do you stand?
Do you hear FEAR knocking? Or Your ANCHOR is fastened to the Mighty Rock?

This is the Word of the Lord if you are afraid; Be strong, fear not, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you. There will be supernatural intervention for you and your household. This isn’t time to cower to fear of what may or may not happen. You are a soldier in God’s mighty army. Remember your old hymn: Onward Christian Soldiers. It’s time to STAY STRONG and WATCH YOUR GOD DO WHAT HE DOES BEST.

Onward Christian soldiers!
  Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
  Going on before.
Christ, the royal Master,
  Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
  See, His banners go!
 Onward, Christian soldiers!
  Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus,
    Going on before.
At the name of Jesus
  Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers,
  On to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver
  At the shout of praise:
Brothers, lift your voices,
  Loud your anthems raise!
Like a mighty army
  Moves the Church of God:
Brothers, we are treading
  Where the saints have trod;
We are not divided,
  All one Body we—
One in faith and Spirit,
  One eternally.
Crowns and thrones may perish,
  Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the Church of Jesus
  Constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never
  ’Gainst the Church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise,
  Which can never fail.
Onward, then, ye people!
  Join our happy throng;
Blend with ours your voices
  In the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor
  Unto Christ, the King;
This through countless ages
  Men and angels sing.

Power Thought: Week 43

No More FEAR

Satan has two main camps he keeps his captives:

  • The Sin camp and
  • Fear Camp

These two camps represent two strong forces he uses to torment God’s children and keep them from being free. It’s kind of mental and emotional play that can have massive impact on the body. But

Thank God for Jesus Christ who through His amazing Grace has delivered us from the power (camp) of sin. Satan loses his grips when a person comes to Jesus Christ.

On the other hand, he (satan) seems to have control over God’s children when it comes to FEAR. Someone once said that FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is a spirit; can’t be seen but felt and has capacity to keep you away from reaching your full potential and/or possessing God’s promise for your life.

As we start this week, take note of these WORDS: DON’T fear FEAR because components of your salvation package include Love, Power, and Sound mind.

…Perfect love expels all fear… (1 John 4:18, NLT)

God is on your side, watching over His word to perform it. He greater than anything that threatens your existence. He is greater than any thought that torments you. Above all, He gave Jesus for you. Jesus Christ wasn’t afraid of anything and he counseled on Whom to Fear, God.

“Don’t be afraid of people. They can kill the body, but they cannot kill the soul. The only one you should fear is God, the one who can send the body and the soul to be destroyed in hell.” (Matthew 10:28, ERV)

“Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.” (Proverbs 29:25, NLT)

Don’t be a slave to Sin or to Fear because The One on your side is greater than the originator of those two forces. God loves you and Jesus Christ saved you from the two. Therefore be Strong and Courageous to take the necessary steps needed for your acceleration. Remember that every step of Faith you take is an act of obedience and your trust in God’s Love and Provision. Enjoy your courageous week child of God.
