Power Thought: Week 13

Today

Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should. (Psalm 90:12, TLB)

It’s Mid-week and Friday lovers just can’t wait for Thursday to quickly pass. “Thank God Its Friiidaaaay!” as sang by many But the irony is that as we love to see Friday on Monday morning, we are gradually hoping for the year to end quick, age quick and die quick.

What about your dreams, visions, targets? how about things you decided to do this year? how about your new year’s resolution? What are your attitude towards them? Are you procrastinating or taking step by step approach?

This is Week 13, about 39 more Fridays in 2018, so if you haven’t started working proactively towards developing yourself, working hard toward achieving your short and long terms goals, and especially your checklist for 2018, then the right time is NOW.

The quicker Friday comes, the shorter the remaining days of the year. This is because every week (Friday) reduces days in a year by 7.

Remember that God will send the Rain when He is ready But you have to prepare your field, as said in Facing the Giants.

Power Thought: Week 12

Simon replied, “Master, we worked hard all night [to the point of exhaustion] and caught nothing [in our nets], but at Your word I will [do as you say and] lower the nets [again].” (Luke 5:5, AMP)

imageWeek by week the Lord is gradually ushering our steps onto a higher ground. Let’s not forget that on Christ the Solid Rock we stand, and Nothing shall be impossible if we keep moving forward…always moving one step ahead of the other.

In Luke 5, Peter and his colleagues had worked hard all night and caught nothing. In the natural, it was game over. Their own strength, skills, abilities, expertise, knowledge, etc could not produce desired result. When they thought it was over, that was where Jesus showed up. This reechoes what someone said that Faith begins where ability ends.

This is a new week. Probably things didn’t go as planned last week, It is easy to give up and think that “well, this is just one of the days…I win some, and lose some”. It doesn’t require faith to give up because decision to give up often depend on physical evidence(s). But NOTE that we walk by Faith not by sight.

Behold a new dawn has come and Jesus wants you to lower your nets again. This time don’t rely on your capability (ies) and  do as the Lord, through the Holy Spirit says. Get up and do it again.

This is a new week for a new beginning therefore forget about what didn’t work in the past and focus on Jesus and His Word. Remember, Step by step, week by week, the Lord is guiding/leading you to a higher ground.

God bless you and have a faith-field week.

On Call 24/7

Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all. (Psalm 34:19, AMP)

Aboard British Airways flight, at about 35000 feet, there was nothing really to do so as the gentleman who sat next to me. We decided to share jokes among other things for about two hours. He shared one which got me off my seat which I believe there are some lessons to learn from as God’s children.

  • The Joke

A Christian and unbeliever (bearded man) were travelling by air. It was six hours journey so the Christian took that opportunity to share the Gospel with this unbeliever. He shared a message on how Jesus is protecting God’s children 24/7.The unbeliever didn’t believe the message so he asked if the Christian could keep his mouth shut.

After about 45 minutes, the pilot announced that he had lost control of the plane and that it could crash any moment. Upon hearing the pilot, the Christian cried out loud; “JESUS SAVE ME!” Immediately, he disappeared from the plane.

Fascinated by what he has heard and seen, the unbeliever opened his mouth in attempt to repeat what he heard but “JESUS SHAVE ME!” came out. Immediately, his beard disappeared. The plane crashed and he died.”

Lesson:

  • Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. (Psalm 121:4, NLT)
  • “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs to it and is safe and set on high [far above evil].” (Proverbs 18:10, AMP)
  • Jesus protects you 24/7.
  • For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13, KJV)
  • In times of trouble call on Jesus and He will save you.

God bless you
