Day 2: LIVING THE WORRY FREE LIFE
Don’t worry about your safety
God is watching over you. He is taking care of you. In Psalm 91 the psalmist said “though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you”. His angels are protecting you.
For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. (Psalm 91:11, NLT)
When you hear stories about accidents on the streets, suicide bombing, terrorist threats, kidnapping, tsunami, etc. don’t let your heart be troubled because God is your fortress, protecting you from danger. He has built a hedge of protection around you, your family, and everything you have.
Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. (Psalm 55:22, NLT)
God wants you to give all your burdens (including your greatest fear) to him. He wants you to trust him for your protection. World leaders can’t protect you. However when you trust that the Creator of the universe has charged his angels to protect you wherever you go, it takes away worry and anxiety. Don’t live in fear anymore. Don’t allow the headlines scare you. And don’t let what people say make you doubt God’s promises concerning your life.
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15
You can live the worry free life. God is watching over you and He will not permit you to slip and fall
Day 1: LIVING THE WORRY FREE LIFE
Don’t worry about Food and Clothing
Imagine your 5-year-old child comes to you crying about food and clothes he is going eat and put on his birthday. It’s likely you will tell this child to stop worrying or crying because daddy will buy new clothes and mummy will prepare delicious meals on the birthday. We easily tell our children to put their hope in us even when we don’t have enough resources at hand. It is easy to do this however when it comes to us trusting the Almighty God, our Father, to cater for our needs, we doubt his power to provide.
Jesus said “Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?” (Matthew 6:25, AMP)
Life is more important than food. Someone once said that “when you have life, you have everything.” This is true because the dead can do nothing. So when you wake up in the morning, instead of worrying about what to eat or drink or your needs, thank God for the gift of life. Thank Him that He has given you yet another day to declare His goodness to the nations. He woke you up this morning because He is going to provide for you. “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you more valuable to him than they are?” (Matthew 6:26, NLT)
Friend you are more valuable than bird so trust that God will supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Your body is far above and more excellent than clothing. The white lily grows up from the dirty mud and yet there is no dust on it. Jesus said “Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for.” (Matthew 6:29-30, NLT)
Be encouraged to live the life that is free from worry and anxiety because the Creator of the Universe is your Father and he has promised to provide all your needs.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. (1 Peter 5:7, NLT)
