judgeDon’t pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole travelling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor. Matthew 7:1-5 MSG.

All of us have strengths, and we all have weaknesses. You are strong in an area where your neighbor is weak. And you neighbor may be strong in an area where you are weak. None of us is perfect, so don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, and criticize their faults. You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things. Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Romans 2:1-3

It is easy to think “I wouldn’t do that. How could a Pastor, Teacher, President, or Christian do this or say that?” But the truth is you are strong in those areas because of the Grace of God. I am not a drug addict because the grace of God, I am not a gossiper, drunkard, womanizer, thief, etc because of the Grace of God. I believe people do what they do for reason(s) we don’t know therefore let us take time to understand their situations and pray for them. Take time to understand your friends’ situation before you pass a comment. Don’t talk behind their back

Think about this for a moment; if God should expose everything you do behind closed doors to the rest of the world, could you imagine what people would say about you?

Friend, don’t join unbeliever who mock at believers who fall into temptations. don’t judge them when their secret sins come to light. Don’t be quick to judge when you hear your brother or sister’s weakness. Instead, show some love. Let them know how you love them, and pray for them.

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37 niv84.

If we are critical rather than compassionate, we will also receive criticism. You will receive what you give to others in full amount.

God is the Judge!

  1. It is very True De Preacher that we are not to judge others weaknesses and shortcommings ( see my link below) or are we to condemn others, who are we to think we have never fallen short of the glory of God, as you said it is by God’s grace alone that we have been forgiven when we came to repentance and set free from punishment of our past sins and also the slavery of sin.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

    2 Timothy 4:2-3 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

If we Love others with God’s Love we do not ignor it when they continue to sin as Christians and God makes this very clear, we are to rebuke, correct error and warn them and to do so we must judge them to know they are sinning or are in error but it is to be with Love and for Love and never with fleshy understanding but always according to God’s Truth.

Who is pointing and Who is The Difficult Person

God does not contridict Himself … we are not to judge others with wordly fleshy understanding but we are to rebuk and correct with His Truth when needed. not to do so and to just look the other way while they continue to sin, is not Love.

1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1 John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

    1. God bless you for your thought on this topic. God is the Judge. He represent Justice. None of the accusers of the woman who committed adultery could stone her because they realised they were not perfect. Our job is not to judge.

      1. Thank you De Preacher for your affirming words and also for reading my Post about judging others weaknesses and shortcomings or even their sin in a fleshy and unloving way.

But of course it is not Love to watch someone walking towards a cliff and not warn them and yet today many look the other way and ignor sin.

We can see from the Scripture I shared above, and there are more, this is not how we are to respond to others who continue to sin in the Church but sadly people do so and it is why the Chuch has fallen away as Prophised, it is because they have rejected God’s Truth for their own fleshy understanding. When we agree with evil we will eventually do it ourselves.

Lets pray that people will Love others enough to warn them in Love and for Love, with the hope they will repent which is always their choice but God does seek to warn them through us The Body of Christ or if they don’t listen and repent by allowing then to reap what they sow untill they come to their senses.

  2. I noticed you used my picture. It was originally used for a blog I posted: December 11, 2011 called Job 34:13-20 – I OBJECT TO CHRISTMAS! http://wp.me/pLiNz-fb . It fits the idea of judgment and is decorated with Christmas colours to fit in with that theme. With the shadow of the Cross, it speaks about how Christ was judged instead of us when He died for our sins.

    1. That is true. He stood before men to be condemned But He is coming as a judge to judge. I pray we be found right in His sight.

      God bless you
