CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME FROM ME?

Nazareth! Can anything good come from there? Nathanael asked. “Come and see” said Philip. John 1:46

Can anything good come from me?

This is among some questions that challenge my faith. As a matter of fact, they push me up. Can anything good come from my family, my church, my community, my country?

Human beings are people; they could be for you, and they could be against you. But your ability to stand in either ways is what is important. Faith is contagious so in order to stay in faith, do mind the kind of people you associate yourself with. Make every effort to be with people who will speak words that will encourage you, and move you to your planned destination. Words are powerful; they could push up. They could bring you down. Some people will try to use your family background, education, society, job, friends, marriage, etc to discourage you. However, “the Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

From the scriptures, when Jesus saw Nathanael approaching in John 1:46, he said to him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false. “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were standing under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel”. Here is the point Jesus acted to let Nathanael know that truly something good has come to Nazareth. People would doubt what you can do; they will discourage you, and even laugh at your vision. When this happens, don’t be discouraged. Know that it is God who has placed that seed on the inside of you. Look up to Him, do your best daily and I believe those people would come, in the end like Nathanael did, to congratulate you.

Some years ago, even now, most people laughed at me when I told them what the world could become. Last year, I told some folks about the kind of business I want to start and almost everybody present laughed. I encouraged myself that their unbelief cannot make God a liar. Let God be true, and every man a liar. Romans 3:4. I do not know where you come from, your educational background, family, job, etc. I do not know the kind of words people say when you tell them your vision. Maybe they laugh when you tell them who you are in Christ. Well! The good news is God is faithful and He is going to guide you through, as you keep doing your best, till you achieve what He has placed in you.

I came to encourage you today that the situation you are in now, that is the kind of words people tell you, your job, family, relationship with people, marriage, ministry, etc, I believe, is a stepping stone to your divine destination. If someone wants to know what God could do with your life, tell him/her to come tomorrow because you are not a finished product yet. Your life today is a work in progress. Be hungry for more blessings, opportunities, best friends, good marriage, etc, and I believe God would satisfy that hunger. The seed of greatness is in you. Your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost. God lives in you.

I would encourage you to find some time today, reflect on what is happening in your life and ask yourself this question; CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME FROM ME? Think about God’s promises and what He has done in your life before. Listen if you forget about what He has done in the past, you would be afraid of the future. He did it in the past, He could do it now, and do it again in the future. Now, answer the question. I believe your answer would be Yes.

God bless you

I will close with this;

1 Samuel 17

33 Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.”

34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

When Satan attacks with his weapons, faith is what you need. In Ephesians, we are told to use the shield of Faith to quench the fiery darts of the devil. Faith believes in advance what only makes sense in reverse. You must exercise your faith to see your victory in Christ.

Uplifting Christ

I am not comfortable talking about storms because they are not friendly; they cause pains, fear, worries, etc. I have seen how storms killed many, destroyed properties, changed lives from good to bad. To put it briefly, storms are unfriendly. From the scripture, Jesus was walking on the water. Peter asked if he could join, and Jesus accepted. This means that God has given us freedom and Power to do what He did through Jesus. God has enabled us to do extraordinary things on earth. Peter walked on the water But something took his attention; the STORM. He started sinking when his heart was swept away by what he saw. When His focus was on Jesus, all was well.

Storms refer to the negative situations, fear, etc that come our way. They refer to sicknesses, double mindedness, pains, addictions, rejections, etc that Satan throws at us. Storms come to…

TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“1 Corinthians 6:19-20 gives us a friendly reminder about the importance of not only renewing what’s on the inside, but also what’s on the outside. Think about it for a moment. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such. Would you let your church building look run down or distressed? Of course not! If repairs were needed to your church, you would renovate your church so that it stands as a shining beacon of Christ’s love in your community. Therefore, shouldn’t we treat our bodies the same way and continually renew them so that they are able to carry out God’s purpose for our lives? In what ways do you need to renew your body? Renewal can look different for everyone. For some it might be the need for a little more exercise or a better diet. It could be the need for physical healing. For others, it may be allowing God to renew you from a past sexual sin. Find where you need renewal for your body and allow God to work His healing in your life.”
